Species of Unicorns
There are 3 main types, or breeds, of unicorns.
The Karkadann is the Arabian unicorn. It is the largest of all modern unicorns. It lives in India and Persia, maybe even as far as northeast Africa. It looks kind of like an Antelope, and its call sounds like a deep bellow. It's as big as a Rhino, with the tail of a lion, and its enemy is the Elephant. The horn is black. When a Karkadann runs, it shakes the earth, and when it bellows, all the other animals run away. This unicorn also has a gentle side to it, it loves the ring dove, and will guard a ring dove's nest for hours, admiring the lovely dove.
The Asian unicorn is known by many names, including Ki-lin, Kirin, and Chi-lin. It is very rare and very beautiful. It lives in China, Korea, and Japan mostly, also Tibet, and can be seen in other parts of eastern Asia as well. It is not known well, because it is so shy. Its back is spotted, and then it also has white markings of different shapes and patterns. The horn has a blunt tip. This unicorn is a total pacifist, it will avoid fighting at all costs, and is the symbol of peace and tranquility. It has a lovely sweet and delicate voice, that will remind someone of the ring of a small silver bell. It looks like a small stag, and has an Ox tail. It's belly is colorful, it has red, yellow, blue, white, and black on it. The Ki-lin is the symbol of perfect good, it is considered the noblest of all creatures in the world, and can live up to a thousand years. It is so rare that it can only be found in forests of China that man has not yet set foot in.
The unicorn we all know best is the European unicorn. Its horn is straight, unlike the curved horns of the Karkadann and Ki-lin. The European unicorn is not only white, as shown in most pictures. It can be any color, from black, to brown, to gold. Males can grow beards. These unicorns have acute hearing, very fine vision, and its call is a sad wail. An adult male is about 3 and a half feet high(at the shoulders) when standing, and can weigh over a hundred pounds. The females are smaller and lighter.
There is also the northern unicorn, found in the Scandavian mountains, Russia, and Lapland. It has a very long beautiful horn, and because of this it is unmercifully hunted and very very shy. Not much is known of its life history. It is longer and shaggier than the european unicorn, and has a longer main with a more flowing tail. The eyes are blue-ish, and the coat is commonly pure white.
The Alicorn
An alicorn is the unicorn's horn. Here are some tests you can perform in order to decide if the horn is real or not.
- Burn the horn, if it is real, it will give out a sweet smell.
- Put it near poisonous plants or animals, the true alicorn will cause them to burst and die.
- Put the horn in a vessel and then add three or four big scorpions(alive), and keep the vessel covered. Check it in four hours, if the scorpions are dead, or practically dead, then it's a real alicorn.
- Throw it in water. The true alicorn will make little bubbles and even if the water is cold, it will look and sound like the water is boiling.
- If you see a spider, draw a circle on the ground around the spider, using the alicorn. If the alicorn is real, the spider will not be able to get out and will eventually die of starvation.
- A true alicorn will sweat when near poison.
- Something to remember, the alicorn loses most of its power once stolen from the unicorn. NEVER kill a unicorn for its horn, NEVER take a horn from a unicorn, dead or alive.

Q: Do unicorns only have one horn? A: NO. Some rare types have 2 horns, such as the Plioceros and the Pleistoceros.
Q: Are unicorns always white? A: NO. They can be any color.
Q: What's the best way to capture a unicorn? A: Put a virgin girl in a forest, the unicorn will come ad lay its head in her lap. DO *NOT* capture, hunt, or kill a unicorn!!!!!!!!!
Q: Do unicorns make noises? A: yes, they have many different calls and sounds used for communication. A baby unicorn will use a "sneeze" call, when it is in danger, and its guardian will come to save it.
Q: Can I see a unicorn? A: yes. but there are different types of people, and each type sees it differently. there is the scoffer, who will see the unicorn, but not beleive it is real. there is the hunter, who does not have a very good chance of seeing one, for obvious reasons, which is good because you should never hunt a unicorn. there is the mundane, who will see the unicorn as a white mare, the horn will be invisible because a mundane person either refuses to beleive in unicorns, or has lost all touch with magic completely. then, another type, will see the unicorn for the true beauty it is, and rather than not beleive or try to kill it, this person will try to become the unicorn's friend. if the unicorn finds this person pure of heart, they will be best friends forever. that is the best type of person to be.
Q: Can people be unicorns? A: yes, they can. they can be the reincarnation of the unicorn, and the unicorn's spirit lives within them. i am a unicorn.
Q: How do you know if you are a unicorn? A: well, one thing you can do, as i did, is research it on the web. another is, you can read the book called "Are You a Unicorn?"by Roy Wilkinson, this book is a must for unicorn lovers, i have not read it yet but i am going to. another thing you can do is follow your heart, your intuition, and decide for yourself.
To see a unicorn is an omen of happiness and good fortune, or it can also be seen 1 day before the death of a great person.
