Of Piske Dreams

Part III

After transferring Xander to Giles’ bedroom, the group immediately went to work on finding anything dealing with Piske Blades. It was slow going, as it didn’t seem any of Giles’ book mentioned Piske’s at all. Growling, Oz tossed another book on top of the pile of discarded tomes.

“There’s nothing here,” The werewolf groaned, rubbing his eyes. Willow looked over at him sympathetically.

“I know, but we have to keep trying,” She said. Oz sighed, nodded, and grabbed another book.

Tara walked back into the living room with a piece of toast in her mouth, a book open in her hands. She had gone back into the bedroom to look in on Xander again, making sure he still retained a pulse, heartbeat and at least moderate breathing. Giles had been the one that cleaned up Xander, washing off all his dried, sticky blood and changing him into a pair of his loose, flannel pajamas. If one didn’t remind him or herself that Xander had been stabbed mere hours ago, it would look as if the dark haired boy was just sleeping over at Giles’ place, which he had done once or twice in the past.

Ethan frowned, skimming paragraph after paragraph on the computer screen in front of him. He sighed and clicked on another link, popping up another page.

“I think we’re coming across too many obstacles, Rip,” Ethan grimaced, and shut off the monitor in disgust. “There just isn’t enough information outside the Council about these damn demons.” Buffy’s ears perked.

“Demon?” She asked, her voice high. Ethan blinked and nodded. “Piske’s are demons?” She leaned forward, her expression intense. Ethan raised an eyebrow and nodded.

“Yes. Little things, never much bigger than about four foot, usually yellow or orange skinned, but yes, demons.” He stated. Buffy clapped her hands and immediately began searching her purse for her cell phone.

“What are you doing?” Giles asked. Buffy grinned.

“Calling a demon expert.”
