Color: Any Solid Color
Main uses: pleasure riding, competition, and dressage
Blood Temp: Warmblood
- Also known as East Prussian
- Established at Trakehner stud in 1732 by Friedrick Willian I
- Modern version made up of Schweiken (extinct), Arab, and Thouroughbred
- Ancient version made up of Schweiken (extinct), Mongolian pony, and maybe Turkenemian
- Excellent dressage and jumping horse
- One of the most elegant breeds known to man today
- Breed declined in World War II. In winter about 700-800 mares and a few stallions traveling west with people fleeing from Russians. Before that there were 25,000 Trakehners registered, after that there were only 1,200. The remaining horses were than used to rebuild the breed
