The Moon and the Zodiac
I'm sure that many of you have come across spells that will instruct you to do a spell when the moon is in a certain astrological sign. (i.e.- Moon in Taurus, Moon in Virgo, Moon in Cancer, etc.) The thing is, they usually don't explain why.
The reason for timing a spell by the moon's astrological sign is that each sign holds specific energies that correspond and can lend their power to a particular spell.
For instance, if you need to bring balance into your life, do a spell for balance when the moon is in Libra. If it is a matter that concerns your family or the home, work your magick when the moon is in Cancer.

~ Gardening by the Moon ~
My grandparents were avid gardeners. I can still remember the old Farmer's Almanac calendar hanging on the wall which they consulted often to know when the best time to plant, water, weed, prune and harvest would be. At the time I had no idea just how old this practice really was or that its roots went so deep into the soil of history. It was only after I began studying the Craft and its association to the moon that I rediscovered this ancient method of planting and harvesting.
By following the signs, my grandparents kept a full, healthy garden. It is a tried and true practice that can certainly work for you as well!
