Clothing Advice and Tips

• Always buy a couple of Sizes larger-babies grow fast!
• Always make sure baby clothing is safe
• Never bother avoiding a good price on larger baby clothes-you'll need them later on!
• If you buy white baby clothes, expect them to be instantly stained.
• Try to avoid putting a baby in only gender specific clothing (such as all pink and bows for girls, all blue and ducks for boys) Chances are, they'll hate you for it when they're older :)
• Avoid designer baby clothing-it's more expensive and quite frankly, will only be worn a short period of time before losing it's usefulness.
• Babies do not need any more layers of clothing than you do to keep them warm-too much clothing can actually make them sick from heat!(with some exceptions-see your doctor for special situations or babies with special needs)
• Name brands are purely that-names: Try some off brand styles and see if they work for you.
• A Bassinet is one of the most useless items to buy- a baby will only be able to use it for around 3 months.
• If you invest in a stroller-try to find one that is safe, lightweight, and convertable-many strollers now can function as car seats and carriers as well.
• Buy Baby toys that are a little more advanced than what they specify on the packaging. This ensures longer use of a toy and, in my experience, quicker brain development.
• Don't bother buying too many stationary toys-most toddlers and children prefer active toys, and they have the added benefit of helping to strengthen muscle tone.
• It is never too early to buy many books for your child-I suggest buying slightly older books-these will be far more useful in the future than
• I highly suggest one toy product in particular- the Leap Frog learning pad. This very clever toy can advance as your child does, and is educational as well as fun.
• Flash cards with pictures are ALWAYS more effective than ones that feature only print.
