History: A species of giant worm-like creatures that first appeared hundreds of millions of years ago during the Precambrian. Although they are mostly extinct, a few dormant eggs have remained, and will hatch if uncovered. These creatures burrow through the ground and grapple prey at the surface to pull under and eat. When they grow to large sizes, the "graboid" appears to die, and three "shreikers" burst out. These intermediate-stage creatures are smaller then the larva form, and use infrared vision to find prey. After a while they will metamorphose into "assblasters", the adult form, which have the ability to fly using a combination of volatile chemicals. After traveling to an appropriate nesting site, they will lay eggs, allowing the cycle to start over again. These creatures have been spotted a number of times in human history, especially in areas of ground excavation. They have been spotted in Mexico and South America, but the most famous location is Perfection, Nevada.
Fighting Power:
***The only one that needs focusing on is the larva form, which is large enough to be considered "giant". The intermediate and adult forms are smaller than a man, but the larva form can grow to an impressive size and is powerful even if alone (the smaller stages are only powerful in large swarms). The "graboids" have the ability to burrow underground with great skill, and although solid rock will hinder their movement, they are still extremely dangerous to any land-based animal smaller then them (humans, cattle, house pets) due to their ability to sense even the slightest movement and possessing a strong muscular built. The tentacle-like grabbing tongues also help to grapple prey, and their resistant hide also aids their hunting prowess. The only true weakness is that they are not very intelligent, and can be easily lured into traps. They can be easily fooled into thinking something like a remote-control car holding dynamite is prey, or tricked into slamming into a hard object or other hazard such as a buried saw blade. Still, to an unsuspecting creature these "graboids" are a serious threat because in one quick movement, it’s all over.
