Film Appearances: King Kong Escapes (1966)

History: A mechanical double of King Kong made by criminal mastermind, Dr. Who, to mine for "Element X" near his base in the arctic. The radiation fried Mechani-Kong’s systems, so Dr. Who went out to capture the real thing. However, Kong escaped his grasps, and Mechani-Kong was sent to recapture King Kong. They fought up Tokyo Tower, and after his control signal was halted, Mechani-King fell off the tower and was damaged beyond repair.

Based off Kong so has all the powers the real Kong has... sort of. As the fight with King Kong proved, Mechani-Kong isn’t quite as powerful as the original. Still, it does have some tricks of it’s own, such has the hypnotizing device on it’s head, the blindingly bright lights from it’s eyes, and the useful grenades it carries. An overall powerful robot, but lacks the armor or utility, and especially intelligence, that would make it better than the real King Kong.
