Hong Kong-1996

The young man sat watching the news. The U.N. was going to hold a meeting to discuss possible future attacks on Japan, and the world, by the monster Godzilla. The threat had always been there, the threat of Godzilla attacking Hong Kong that is. He didn't think Godzilla would come to Hong Kong though. He walked away from the t.v. screen and stepped out into the cool night air. In a few minutes he would be dead.

A bright light filled the harbor. Something living was moving towards Hong Kong underwater. The thing surfaced, the massive horn on its head destroying a yaht as it did. No one could believe what they were seeing. The massive beast was covered in armor with a glowing yellow horn sticking out of its head. The fierce beast had great red eyes filled with rage and a terrible set of jaws and a pair of monstrous mandibles jutting out from its face.

The great beast's horn glowed and a bolt of what seemed like lightning errupted from it, destroying the entire harbor. The great thing came ashore, resembling a terrible worm in all its gruesomeness. The thing unleashed its blast again, and again, and again. The buildings burned, fell, and all inside and under died. The beast turned and aimed its blast dirrectly at the screaming crowd, and that was the end of them. The monster tunneled under ground and begin to bring down building after building. The creature emerged and again destroyed the city with its blasts of energy. The terrible thing burned most of the city, then it tunneled under ground and destroyed more of the city. Again the thing emerged and then met a swarm of jets. The thing wasn't even effected by the attack. It turned on the fleeing crowd again, and killed them with its blast. The monster went about its destruction, in the process it destroyed a large building with its blast. The young man inside fell, and died. The creature destroyed the entire city before returning to the sea. This was only the beginning.

The Legend Of The Demons

Yuri Tsujimori was back in Japan. He was an archaeologist, though he hadn't worked for awhile. His brother, Goro Tsujimori, had been a minerologist and had died when the U.F.O. that unleashed Gigan was discovered. Yuri could live with it though. Yuri sorted the mail and found an unmarked envelope. For someone who was generally calm Yuri was a little nervous. Why the hell am I shaking? Damn it Yuri its nothing! Yuri opened the letter:

"Come to the inclosed address, I have some-

thing for you. I mean you no harm. I can

tell you about the creature that attacked

Hong Kong last week."

The U.N. had decided to wait untill the creature returned to deal with it. That's all they could do, except hunt it down and enrage it. The world had learned from the past, an enraged kaiju was the most dangerous kind. But why would someone want to give Yuri information on the thing. Yuri decided to go ahead with it and the next day he found himself at an old run down house in Hiroshima.

Yuri knocked on the door and was invited in by an old man. Yuri stepped in to the house and found an ice cold room with dusty furniture. "Good afternoon Mr. Tsujimori. My name is Kudo. No last name, no mister, just Kudo." Yuri looked at the aged face with the long white hair. "You said you had information for me about the new kaiju." Kudo nodded. "It is Battra, the Earth Spirit." Yuri tried to take this in but just couldn't accept it. Kudo shook his head, "I see you don't understand. Battra is the incarnation of the Earth Spirit. Battra was summoned by Gaea, or Earth, or whatever you would choose to call it. You see, the planet we live on is a living thing, an intelligent living thing endowed with mana. When the monster Aethra came and begin to drain mana from the planet Gaea summoned Battra to stop it. However, Aethra was destroyed by Godzilla before Battra could be brought about. Battra slept until it sensed another threat to the planet, the pollution mankind has created."

Yuri shook his head. "Why...why are you telling me this? Me...of all people, why me?" Kudo smiled. "I sense great things in you. I worship Gaea. Recently a message has come to me that the seal of the twin demons will be broken soon. I sense that you will play an important part in the events that are to come." Yuri couldn't accept this, he couldn't. He had to learn more though, he had to know what Kudo ment. "What are the twin demons?" Kudo's expression changed. "Long ago a terrible demon came and begin to contaminate the planet. Where it came from I do not know but I do know that it needed to change the planet's enviroment to survive. The Earth Spirit was first summoned at that time. It was not Battra then though. You see, the Earth Spirit take's on a differant incarnation each time it is summoned. The Earth Spirit faced the demon and failed to stop it. After a terrible battle in present day Arabia the Earth Spirit fled and later faced the demon again in present day Vietnam. There the Earth Spirit split the demon into two beings, the winged demon Kykis and the venomous Zevul. The Earth Spirit forced Zevul to retreat and sealed Kykis away in the jungles of Vietnam. It then chased Zevul to the Himalayas and sealed it away there. Then the Earth Spirit died from its injuries."

Yuri studdered again. "Are...are you saying that the Earth Spirit can be reborn again and again in differant forms?" Kudo nodded. Yuri considered this and then spoke again. "If these demons, Kykis and Zevul, are freed...what will happen?" Kudo sat down and sighed. "If they are freed they will begin to slowly destroy the planet. If they are allowed to reunite then they may destroy the world unless Battra can stop them in their combined state."

Yuri grew tense and cold at this. "And if Battra can't?" A tear roled down Kudo's cheak, "Then all the terrible things that have happened thoughout the history of humanity will have no meaning compared to the nightmare that will come. If there is a God beyond this universe then I pray he will help us."

The Coming Of Kykis

The team of archaeologists were driving down the old road toward the jungle. A group of Vietnamese farmers had found something strange and had informed the government who had sent the archaeologists. They team parked their jeeps and walked into the jungle escorted by a Vietnamese guide. Then they saw it. The thing was massive, about forty meters long. A quick study of "the thing" revealed that it was giving off heat. The team drilled through the thick, red, pupa like shell for an hour or so before they hit something.

A blast of red light errupted from one end of "the thing" and a terrible head rose from the shell. The monstrosity that immerged was covered in armor like scales and had gray flesh. Its toothy head was sheilded by a great red crest that its great yellow eyes. Its long tail waved in the air as its clawed feet stepped out of the shell. It spread a pair of leathery wings and took flight. Kykis was free.

The beast flew over the jungle and feilds. It dove down to snap up cattle and people alike. Long had it been sealed away. The Earth Spirit had sealed it away thousands of years ago when civilization was in its infancy. When it had been one with Zevul it could have survived in the current enviroment for years, just enough time to alter it to its living conditions. However, the Earth Spirit had seperated Kykis and Zevul long ago and forced them to go into suspended animation. The seal had grown weak over time and was broken by the foolish humans who cared little for the planet or the lessons of the past, so much did they ignore history's teachings that they forgoten most of it and could barely guess what had occured more than seven thousand years ago.

Kykis could sense the Earth Spirit and it knew that the Earth Spirit could since it as well. It could not since Zevul though and had no idea where it was sealed away. It needed to unite with Zevul to survive and change the planet's enviroment. It couldn't survive without reuniting with Zevul. Zevul was either sealed up or dead, but Kykis would wait and prepare for the union-that's all it could do.

The Meeting

Yuri was waiting for Shiro Yamada, former head of the G-Unit and founder of the GIC. Mr. Yamada had paid for Yuri's dinner and anything else he wanted at the resturant. Yamada wanted information about Battra and Kykis, something no one else wanted. Yuri had taken Kudo's story to Akira Shinoda, head of the G-Unit, who had just laughed and insulted him. Indeed, Yamada was the only person (excluding a few of Yamada's close friends) who could accept the story and he was the only man who could convince the G-Unit that the story was true.

The United Nations had met again to discuss the appearance of Kykis in Vietnam and the earlier appearance of Battra in Hong Kong. Vietnam had pleaded for help and was answered by several nations. Many of the nearby nations had pledged their support; the simpathitic governments of Japan, the U.S., and China (still weary from Battra's attack) had sent troops; the nations of Great Britain and France sent economic aid as well as health care to the needy.

Shiro Yamada walked in, and quickly apologizied for being late. "Sorry to keep you waiting. I had to deal with Shinoda, and from what I hear you allready know what he's like." Yuri nodded and begin his story. "Mr. Yamada...", Shiro interrupted him, "Not Mr. Yamada, just call me Shiro." Yuri nodded and implied that Shiro do the same. Shiro had been good friends with Yuri's brother Goro before he had died, but Yuri had never met him face to face.

Shiro smiled for a brief moment then quickly became serious. "You say you have information on these new creatures?" Yuri nodded and gave Shiro the story of Kudo, Battra, Kykis, and Zevul. For a time Shiro was quiet and then spoke. "The old man seems to have been right about Kykis, but it will take Zevul's awakening to prove that to Shinoda and the world for that matter. I assure you though, this story will be told." The two finished dinner and then went seperate ways, both with much on their minds.

Godzilla vs. Battra

Battra swam as fast as it could through the depths of the ocean. It had to reach Kykis. It had to stop the demon. As much as it hated humanity for what it had done to the planet Battra realized that Kykis was the greater threat.

Godzilla stirred from his sleep. He sinced something. The monster king moved toward the creature who's present he had sinced. Then he saw it. The very sight of the beast awakened terrible memories. Godzilla remembered humans with guns shooting him. He wasn't Godzilla then. Godzilla remembered being left on a beach to die. He didn't die though. It was as if some force was keeping him alive. Godzilla suffered on the beach for years. He was starving, wounded, exposed to the elemants, and harrased by smaller animals but still didn't die. As the years past he grew stronger, but he was now filled with hate for those who had done this, and for the presense he had felt keeping him alive. Years after the incident a bright light was seen in the distance and the very earth shook. A great forced struck Godzilla and the rest of the island. All other life died but the force, the thing that had kept him alive through the years, again forced him to suffer. Godzilla suffered through a terrible mutation that should have killed him, but it did not. It did, however leeve him unable to rest and filled his heart with rage. He hated humanity. They had tried to kill him. He hated the thing that had changed him, which he somehow knew was mankind's doings. He hated the force that had condemned him to suffer and now he felt that Battra was somehow connected to that force. Godzilla felt the great sorrow that he had burried under rage and hate that day resurfacing, but he had learned long ago to turn that sorrow into anger and direct it. Now he would direct it at Battra.

Godzilla did not voice his challenge as he usually did to his opponent. Instead he unleashed a blast of atomic fire that struck the unprepared foe's body. Battra turned, unhurt, and roared at its attacker. It knew now that it would have to fight Godzilla to get to Kykis. Godzilla roared and unleashed a second blast that exploded against Battra who was again unhurt. Battra returned fire with its energy bolt which didn't seem to effect Godzilla. The two fired at each other over and over again and in the end it was clear that they were equals. Battra charged and knocked Godzilla back against an underwater rock formation. Godzilla's spines glowd and a blast errupted from his mouth that sent the great monster Battra flying back. Battra fired its energy bolt at Godzilla's face and blinded the great leviathan, temporarily. Godzilla roared and staggered about in anger as Battra charged. Godzilla fell and was blasted by Battra's energy bolts as he tried to stand. Godzilla recovered and dodged to the side as Battra charged again. The great beast grabbed hold of Battra's tail and slung it around and around before letting go and sending it flying into a massive rock formation. Battra recovered and charged again. This time it caught Godzilla and pinned him against a huge underwater mountain. Energy crackled up and down Battra's horn before it unleashed the powerful blast. Godzilla was able to dodge to the side just in time but was still burried in an underwater landslide.

Battra rose to the surface and swam for Vietnam. Now nothing would stop it from fighting Kykis.

The Battle In Vietnam

Kykis flew over the corpses of the Vietnamese troops hit had just killed. The demon was full for the moment, but it would leave these bodies for later. Suddenly Kykis felt something, the presense of the Earth Spirit. Kykis landed and begin to look about, anxiously. Then the ground shook and Battra emerged. Kykis flew into the air just in time as a blast from Battra's horn hit the ground were it had been standing. Kykis stared in awe. The last incarnation of the Earth Spirit hadn't been near as powerful or as feirce. Indeed the Earth had taken time when molding its defender this time. The Earth Spirit's form reflected its purpose. Battra was filled with rage for what humanity had done to its mother and was now focusing all its hate and anger toward Kykis. It would not let the demon win!

Kykis tried to flee, tried to escape Battra's next attack, but couldn't. The blast of energy hit it and sent it crashing to the ground. The evil demon rose and its mouth begin to glow. The bright red beam that came struck Battra's armored head with no effect. The Earth Spirit fired at Kykis' feet and the demon rose into the air, just what Battra wanted. Battra charged as the creature begin to rise in the air and crashed against Kykis. Battra's horn flung Kykis back over Battra's head and sent it crashing to the ground. Battra turned and prepared to fire its blast again, but stopped when it heard a familiar roar.

Godzilla strode through the jungle. He had blasted his way out from Battra's trap shortly after the guardian of the planet had left and now he was back for revenge. Godzilla's rage peaked when it saw Battra. His spines glowed at the thought of his defeat. Godzilla's mouth opened and a bright blue blast errupted from within. Battra took the blast and returned with one of its own. For a time this went on, with Kykis watching with glee. The demon would take advantage of the situation when Battra was too weak to fight back, it would kill Battra then and would do the same to Godzilla if he tried to stop him.

Battra charged Godzilla, but missed when Godzilla dodged to the side. Godzilla grabbed Battra's tail and begin to left it into the air and then smashed it into the ground, over and over again. After being slammed against the ground several times Battra slipped out of Godzilla's grasp and tunneled underground. Godzilla stood, waiting. Suddenly the ground gave way beneath Godzilla and Godzilla begin to stumble. Battra rose from the chaos and unleashed an energy bolt against Godzilla's chest causing the beast to faulter and fall underground. Battra emerged and fired at the now retreating Kykis, bringing it down to the ground. Battra charged, but the ground beneath Kykis begin to tremble and Godzilla emerged, tossing Kykis aside and unleashing a blast of atomic fire in Battra's face.

Kykis attempted to retreat, flying right past Godzilla. Godzilla fired, and Kykis fell into the jungle. Godzilla didn't know what made him attack Kykis, it was as if some unseen being had begged him to. Battra seemed to cheer this attack and responded by firing its own blast at Kykis, nearly killing it. Battra looked as if it was celibrating. It roared in victory at the near defeat of Kykis who was unable to rise from the ground now. Now it could fight Godzilla and enjoy its little battle without worrying about Kykis. Godzilla and Battra both charged. Godzilla's hand grabbed Battra's horn. His other hand pushed against Battra's armored body. Both beasts pushed. Godzilla's spines glowed. Energy cackled up and down Battra's horn. The two beasts could fight now and focus solely on the other.

Kykis' body was healed enough to fly now. The demon took flight, going off to find Zevul. Battra saw this and unleashed its energy blast, knocking Godzilla to the ground. Battra tunneled underground and begin to head after Kykis. Godzilla begin to storm about, in a rage because Battra had left. Godzilla went back into the sea, after facing armed troops and chasing them off. Godzilla and Battra would meet again.

The Awakening Of Zevul

In a tiny valley in the Himalayas Zevul stirred. The Earth Spirit had been weaker when it had sealed Zevul away. The Earth Spirit had sealed Kykis away in a pupa, but it had been stronger then. After it had fought both Kykis and Zevul it had resorted on calling on the Earth's power to form a Light Seal that had trapped Zevul within a snow-capped Mountain. Every molecule of its body had been infused with the molecular structure of the mountain. Calling up that sort of power killed the Earth Spirit in the end. Over the years the seal had weakened and now Zevul was free.

Zevul made its way through the valleys of the Himalayas untill it found a heard of yak being watched over by a group of Sherpa. The beast snatched up all the yak as the terrified Sherpa looked on. They saw the terrible monster's stooped dragon like body, its curved spikes on its shoulders, its long arms ending in eagle like talons, and its horse like head. Zevul turned, and devoured the Sherpa.

Zevul begin to head east. It could sense the Earth Spirit and Kykis but it didn't know where they were. It didn't have the thinking capability that Kykis had. It did have power though, power greater than that of Kykis. When the Earth Spirit had seperated them the things they had shared as one were divided uneavenly. Zevul had recieved the massive power and the ability to change the planet's enviroment. Kykis had a great and evil mind and the ability to heal itself quickly. It would be Kykis that found Zevul, that was the fact of the matter. It would track Zevul down via telepathy and then they would fuse.

Then the ground shook. Battra emerged from beneath the snow and earth. The Earth Spirit and Zevul would fight the demon Zevul again like it had thousands of years ago. Battra knew that Zevul was here, it had arrived in time to stop it. Now the two would rage a battle that might decide the future of the planet and humanity as well.

Battle On The Roof Of The World

Mt. Everest. The tallest mountain in the world and the scene where Battra and Zevul would battle. Battra fired a blast of energy at Zevul, forcing the demon to retreat. Battra chased after Zevul, who turned to face its opponent. The massive, curved spikes on Zevul's shoulders unleashed two blue rays against Battra, who was uneffected. Battra fired again, and again Zevul retreated.

Far away, in the forrests of Cambodia, Kykis sensed Zevul's presense. The evil demon begin to make its way to the Himalayas, where Zevul and Battra were. It would fight Battra, help Zevul, and then Kykis and Zevul would become one again.

Battra sensed that Kykis was on its way, but Zevul could not. Battra would kill Zevul before Kykis could arrive. Battra fired its energy bolt at Zevul in an attempt to stop the monster's retreat. Zevul turned and grabbed Battra's horn in its talon like arms only to be blasted with an energy bolt. Zevul, by now greatly injured, decided on a new tactic. Zevul's mouth opened and a spray of glowing yellow acid fired at Battra, covering its armored head. Battra and Zevul continued their battle untill Kykis arrived.

Both Battra and Zevul turned to face Kykis who seemed to laugh wickedly. Kykis flew over the battlefeild that was Everest, and planned an assult. Kykis's mouth opened and its heat ray spewed out at Battra. The beam reacted to the acid that Zevul had sprayed on Battra and set Battra's intire head on fire. Zevul opened its mouth again and unleashed another blast of acid spray causing the flames to grow even larger. Battra would deal with Kykis and Zevul in a moment, but first it had to smother the flames. Battra fired its energy bolts at Zevul, injuring it severly. Kykis howled, seemingly in pain, then fell to the ground. Battra dove underground in an attempt to stop the blinding fires, leaving Kykis and Zevul alone.

Kykis had fought the pain as it made its way to the Himalayas, but now it couldn't take it. Kykis and Zevul were linked, the pain inflicted on one was felt by the other. Kykis had felt the pain that Battra had inflicted on Zevul. The pain that Kykis had felt when it battled Godzilla and Battra had awoken Zevul. Now Zevul approached Kykis and stared into its eyes as an evil grin formed on Kykis's face.

The two stared into each other's eyes. They could fuse now, both of them knew it. Battra could take the time to smother the flames. Zevul turned, its tail rapped around Kykis's throat, then it threw its other half against the side of a mountain. Immediantly Zevul felt its pain. Zevul refused to fuse with Kykis, it had gained its spirit and would not loose it to Kykis. Zevul knew it couldn't kill Kykis without loosing its own life, but it also realized Kykis would heal. Zevul turned, and left Kykis laying there. Kykis realized that some of Zevul's acid must have soaked through Battra's armor meaning it would take less time for Kykis to recover than Battra. Kykis, Battra, Zevul, all would meet again.

Shadows Of What May Come

Akira Shinoda couldn't accept what he was hearing from Shiro Yamada. Shiro had informed the G-Unit that Kykis and Zevul were threats to the planet that were trying to change the enviroment to suit their living conditions. It was true that Zevul's acid spray had contaminated water supplies and that Kykis's fesis carried disease and chemicals that intoxicated the enviroment. What's more, he said they might be able to become one creature. Godzilla and Battra were threats as well and Shiro stated that Battra was protecting the planet.

Sarah Jane, the little blong haired, blue eyed, psychic, American, ten year old was there as well. Sarah had moved in with Shiro three years ago but neither thought of the other as a daughter or a father figure though they cared for each other very much. Sarah had once had a deep "love" (for lack of a better word) for Godzilla but it seemed to have become more of an understanding.

Sarah was ready to defend Shiro and immediantly backed up what he was saying. "It's true, I can feel these things from Kykis, Zevul, and Battra." Shinoda shook his head. "I can't beleive all this, this is too incrediblle to be true." Shiro sighed. "There's more. I've tracked down legends of the demons and the Earth Spirit. According to prophecy the Holy Mountain will be where Kykis and Zevul reunite. I think that may be Mt. Fuji." Everyone grew quiet at this. So far Japan had been lucky, now its luck would change. It was Shiro who broke the silence, "I've tracked down evidense to support Tsujimori's claims. I've found stories of a man known only as Kudo mentioned throughout this century and we know through our encounters with Aethra that the Earth has mana energy. I think this supports Tsujimori's claims." Shinoda looked up at Shiro, "I suppose we should name the new kaiju and the names you've given us are as good as any."

Yuri walked down the hallway toward his apartment, thinking about Kudo and the Earth's situation. As he put the key into the lock he sensed someone behind him. Turning quickly he found himself face to face with Kudo.

Kudo appoligized for frightening Yuri and asked to come in. Immediantly Yuri allowed him in and asked him about everything. Kudo sighed, "Kykis and Zevul will unite at Mt. Fuji. Hopefully Battra will come and save us before then. I hope that the world will live to see another century." Suddenly Yuri jumped up. "We have a weapon that Kykis and Zevul don't have though. There is a little girl with psychic abilities named Sarah Jane. She's used her powers to help in previous crisises. Hell she's even called Godzilla off...." Yuri stopped for a moment, "Wait a second, if she get's Godzilla to help us then maybe we could keep Kykis and Zevul from uniting." Kudo nodded. "Yuri, if you can bring the minds and hearts of those that can stop Zevul and Kykis you might be able to save the world. Sarah may prove invaluble in the world's darkest hour."

Earth's Darkest Hour

Sarah

Zevul was coming to Japan, Sarah could since it. Many days ago Zevul had left South East Asia and begin a long swim to Japan. Now Kykis and Battra were fully healed and would be coming as well. Yuri had came a few days ago and tried to convince Sarah to help by convincing Godzilla to help fight Zevul and Kykis, but Godzilla was difficult to manage. Now Sarah knew there was no other choice. Godzilla, please help us.

Battra

Battra emerged from the Earth. It had to stop Kykis and Zevul. In a blast of energy Battra transformed into its flying form and begin to fly across China toward Japan. As the Guardian of Earth crossed the ocean and entered a typhoon Chinese jets came rushing out of the clouds firing missiles. Battra dodged flying as fast as it could and then vanished in a clound only to emerge behind the jets. Suddenly Kykis came out of no where.

Battra and Kykis begin to enter a dog fight after Kykis destroyed the jets with its heat ray. Battra fired prism beams from its eyes at the winged demon and clipped its wing, forcing it to loose altitude. Kykis turned and rammed Battra. Battra returned the attack and the two returned to using evasive tactics against one another. Kykis fired its heat ray at Battra who dodged it with ease. Battra fired its prism beams again and barely missed Kykis. Battra chased Kykis, firing its prism beams all the while. Kykis turned and slammed its taloned feet into Battra knocking it into the sea.

Kykis flew out of the typhoon and toward the shores of Japan. Battra emerged from the water and flew after Kykis as fast as it could. It had to stop the demons.

Godzilla

Godzilla stirred. He heard the call. It was calling him to Japan. He could sense the others too. Kykis, Battra, and Zevul were all going to Japan. He would follow. He would have his answers.

Zevul

Zevul rose out of the sea and begin to walk towards Mt. Fuji. The might of the S.D.F. was no match, it simply fired its beams and acid at them and they were destroyed. But a greater opponent soon appeared. Zevul turned when it heard an unfamiliar roar and turned to see Godzilla heading its way.

Godzilla and Zevul begin to battle. Neither cared that Kykis and Bttra were moving toward Japan, not just yet. Godzilla fired his ray at Zevul, who quickly retreated. Godzilla fired at its feet forcing it to stand and fight. Zevul fired its shoulder beams at Godzilla, but to no avail. Godzilla kept charging but was again fired on by the beams, but he would not stop. Godzilla and Zevul begin to grapel at close range, then both staggered backwards. Zevul fired its acid spray on Godzilla, burning the King of the Monster's flesh. Godzilla staggered back, angry and hurt, but he would heal. Suddenly a familiar screech was heard. Kykis had arrived.

Kykis

Kykis fired its heat ray, seperating Godzilla and Zevul with a wall of fire. Zevul tried to retreat but Kykis chased it down. Godzilla was the one that interrupted them. His blast struck Zevul in the side and a huge amount of flesh flew into the air. Kykis felt the pain and fell, not far from Zevul.

Godzilla begin to move toward Kykis and Zevul. Something inside of him hated these things. Suddenly Battra appeared in the sky. The old rage returned in Godzilla and he fired his blast at Battra who barely avoided the blast. Battra realized that to kill Kykis and Zevul it would have to face Godzilla.

Battra fired its rays over and over again at Godzilla, all direct hits. Godzilla staggered and fired again. Battra dodged to the side, again barely avoiding the beam. All this time Kykis was creeping closer and closer to Zevul untill it was right on top of the other demon. Zevul let out a wail of agony as both were covered in a bright blue light. Battra fired its prism beams in desperation but they were all reflected back into the air. There was a flash of light, the unthinkable had happened, Kykis and Zevul were one.

The Demon Azime

No one could believe what had happened, not even Kudo. Only Battra had a full comprehension of what Kykis and Zevul had become-Azime. Shiro, Sarah, Yuri, Shinoda and almost several soldiers from the G-Unit all watched from a near by rooftop. Shinoda seemed to have the most difficulty accepting what had happened. "What the hell is that thing? Don't tell me those monsters have turned into one big one." Shiro sighed. "In truth they have. Legend speaks of a demon named Azime who would arise on the Holy Mountain and set out to destroy the world. I've heard the legends from my mother but I never thought that the stories were true." Shinoda scoffed at this, "Azime, don't tell me you beleive that sort of nonsense Yamada." Sarah came forward. "It is Azime, I can tell. Zevul lost its soul to Kykis when they fused, now it's calling out from within." Suddenly Sarah begin to tremble, "It's Battra, it's trying to tell me something.", Sarah closed her eyes, "It is Azime. Bring about the union of minds and hearts, the power of light, Zevul...I can't understand it!"

Azime towered over Godzilla. The red armor that had once coated the body of Kykis was now sheilding Zevul's grey flesh. Kykis's unimprisive leathery wings had become great bat-like wings that were folded to the side. Azime stooped like Zevul had and the large shoulder spikes had become even larger. Azime's arms were like Zevul's only larger and more muscular. Azime's head was a fusion of that of Zevul and Kykis. Sarah could see the evil smile that had come from Kykis but she sinced the sadness that was Zevul's spirit.

Battra rushed forward without hesitation. The Earth Spirit would not let Azime destroy the planet, it would not allow it! Then there was Godzilla, deciding which side to take.

The Battle For Earth

Azime fired its heat ray at Battra, who quickly dodged to the side. Battra had underestimated Azime's power, which was not only the combined strength of Kykis and Zevul but the great inner strength of Azime as well. Battra fired its prism beams at Azime, with no apparent effect. Battra flew around Azime, barely dodging another heat ray, and crashed into the back of the demon's head. Battra flew off as Azime took to the air, but another factor would determine the outcome of the battle. A blue beam of light struck Azime and brought it down. Godzilla would fight Azime.

Godzilla didn't know what made him do it, he just had a strange hate for Azime that was nothing like the feeling he had for Battra. Azime rose and fired its shoulder beams at Godzilla. The King of the Monsters, would not fall though. Azime kept firing over and over as Godzilla charged. Godzilla reached Azime and sunk its teeth into Azime's armor, tearing away a huge plate of armor. Azime howled in pain as the green blood sprayed out and unleashed a heat ray on Godzilla, striking him in the chest. Godzilla fell.

Azime prepared another attack, but Battra interrupted. Battra's prism beams struck Azime in the face. The evil demon fired its heat ray blindly into the air, missing Battra. Battra unleashed more of its prism beams and bowled Azime over. Battra continued to fire its beams at Azime until a heat ray shot it out of the sky. Godzilla rose to his feet as Azime charged forward. Azime struck Godzilla with its fist but couldn't stop his charge. Godzilla lunged for the wound in Azime's neck but found it healed. Azime's mouth opened and a spray of burning yellow acid errupted against Godzilla's flesh, forcing Godzilla to back off and deal with the burning acid and the fumes coming from it. A wounded Battra rose into the air and grabbed Azime's tail. Battra begin to pull Azime along the ground. Azime broke free and turned, angrier than ever. Azime's mouth opened and it sprayed its acid on Battra. Battra fell, badly wounded. Azime was about to finish it off, but Godzilla would not have it.

Shinoda shook his head, "Even if Azime kills Battra and Godzilla we'll still have an opponent we can't defeat." Sarah didn't give Shinoda a second glance, "Azime is worse then Battra and Godzilla. Azime is evil." Shiro turned to Yuri, but he was no where to be found. They all turned to the battlefeild and saw Yuri rushing toward Azime and Godzilla. I have to bring about the union of minds and hearts, I have to stop this! Goro, I'm coming. The two titans were fireing their energy beams at one another. Suddenly a powerful blast from Azime rushed past Yuri, throwing him into the air and apparently killing him. Everyone was speechless. That same blast snaked up Godzilla's body from his feet to the top of his head, knocking him unconciences.

The Union Of Minds And Hearts

Tears ran down Sarah's face. She couldn't beleive what had just happened. Shiro tried desperately to comfort her. Shinoda had to search for the words, "Damn fool! He gave his life trying to stop the battle!" Battra had seen the human rush toward Azime and Godzilla and get caught up by the blast. It had sensed the human's intentions, the minds and hearts were united, but there was still along way to go. Battra flew into the air, it would stop Azime.

Godzilla laid unconcies on the ground, dreaming of that awful long ago day when he had become what he was. Now it all came back to him, he realized Battra wasn't the cause of this. Battra was telling him the truth now. Godzilla remembered being injured by humans many years ago. He had survive all he had been through by the will of the planet, the living planet Gaea. The Earth had ment for Godzilla to live and show humanity that when it opposed nature and abused its powers monsters were born. That's why Godzilla had suffered in the first place, his rage reached its peak. The Earth had not wanted him, the last of his species, to die. The Earth let him live and gave him purpose. His anger could not be calmed now. He cared nothing for the planet, nothing for Battra or humanity...or did he. Sarah knew what Battra was telling Godzilla, she tried to comfort him but couldn't. Battra rushed Azime. It was going to die, it knew it, but it knew it was its destiny. Azime unleashed a heat ray that destroyed Batta entirely. Battra died and a golden shock wave spread out across the face of the planet, mana energy. Godzilla was revived by the blast and his regenerative powers kicked in. His rage was at its peak, he would destroy Azime. He knew he did hold an alleigance to Battra and the planet now. He would unleash his anger on Azime.

Yuri laid dying on the ground. I've done it. I've united the minds and hearts like Kudo wanted. Now what do I do Kudo? As much as his burnt, crushed body hurt he managed to laugh. Then Kudo stepped out of the shadows. "I'm sorry Yuri, but you did it! Now its up to me to lead the assult against Azime. We have to seal Azime away with the Light Seal.

The Light Seal

Azime and Godzilla grappled feircely. Godzilla slashed Azime. Azime headbutted Godzilla. Godzilla bit Azime. Godzilla would fight to the end. Suddenly Kudo appeared in the middle of the battlefeild. He raised his hands and prayed. A ring of light begin to swirl around the fighting kaiju and begin to rise into the air. Everyone looked on in awe at what was happening. Sarah could since more than anyone save Kudo and Yuri. She saw the souls of all who had been killed by Kykis and Zevul swirling around in the air. Then she saw the Earth Spirit appear in the middle. Sarah grabbed Shiro's hand, "We have to unite our minds and hearts with those who have been killed by the demons. We have to work with the Earth Spirit and Godzilla." Shiro nodded, "Shinoda, grab her hand, we need you too." Shinoda seemed a little discusted, but he knew he had to do it. Turning to his soldiers he barked the order to focus and then grabbed Sarah's hand.

Godzilla and Azime both sunk their fangs into each other's flesh. Suddenly Azime became weaker. Zevul's soul had left the body of Azime and had joined the Earth Spirit above the battle feild. Godzilla, sensing weakness, blasted Azime with his atomic breath. Azime staggered back, a massive junk of flesh had been blown out of its throat. Godzilla fired into the wound and Azime fell, nearly dead. The energy from the beam had spread throughout its body and burst out, leaving great wounds about Azime's body.

All the minds and hearts had united. A massive ring of light appeared in the sky and then crashed down on Azime. The demon pushed back but the Earth Spirit and Zevul entered its body and kept it from resisting. The seal crashed down and sealed the dying Azime in Mt. Fuji. It was over.

Conclusion

Yuri survived his encounter. Kudo told him that Gaea had given him mana to survive long enough for medical aid to reach him. He had also said that since the Earth Spirit and Zevul were keeping Azime (or Kykis if you choose to think of it that way) a new Earth Spirit would come someday. Godzilla had gone back into the sea, his heart still full of rage. In the end Kudo vanished, Yuri went to his house after he had recovered but found it empty. Yuri knew he was still there though, watching all that went on.

In the end not much had changed about Godzilla. He knew things he hadn't before but they didn't effect him any. He was still the same Godzilla, filled with rage and power. He returned to the depths to sleep again, though for how long he didn't know.
