GODZILLA LIVES

1986
Godzilla walked into Tokyo Bay. Not far away, the remains of Onoko crumpled away into nothing. Godzilla had defeated his opponent and was now going to find nuclear energy to recharge. But the S.D.F. was waiting for him in the bay. They where prepared now, with the Sleiphnir. Godzilla faced the huge, aerial, battle ship. The six crew members knew they might loose their lives, but it was worth it. The Sleiphnir opened its top hatch and fired its missiles at Godzilla. Godzilla was uneffected and returned the fire, but the Sleiphnir was designed to take the blast. The Sleiphnir opened its front to reveal a massive amount of missile ports which it fired directly into Godzilla's neck-no effect. Godzilla roared, now angry, and dove into the water. The Sleiphnir went under as well, being able to follow Godzilla underwater, and led Godzilla through a trap filled with mines. Godzilla kept coming, angered by the explosions around him. Godzilla fired his atomic breath at the Sleiphnir again, a direct hit. The computer systems aboard the Sleiphnir began to malfuntion, but a group of jets and battleships came to its aid. Godzilla surfaced, and whiped out his opponents with one blast of atomic fire, than dove under to deal with the Sleiphnir. The Sleiphnir emptied its missiles from the top hatch, front, and two side ports but to no avail. There was still one chance though. The Sleiphnir was equipped with a vile of unstable chemical compounds that could turn water into acid in a few seconds-CX-9. They planned to fire a drill tipped missile into Godzilla's skin, causing an explosion inside Godzilla and filling his body with the compounds. The downside was they had to be within ten meters for it to work. The Sleiphnir got in close and fired. It was a direct it, however, the missile couldn't pierce Godzilla's skin and exploded outside. The water/chemical combination ate away at Godzilla and the Sleiphnir. Godzilla, angered, charged his atomic breath, and fired. The asidic water was practically set on fire. Godzilla and the Sleiphnir where covered in the huge blast that followed and a huge red light could be seen in the bay from Tokyo. When the government searched the bay all that was found of the Sleiphnir where some pieces of the hull. Godzilla was no where to be found.

Tokyo-1991
Shiro Yamada sat at his desk looking over data. He was now the head of the G-Unit (a government group used to study Godzilla), an apology the government made to keep him quiet. But that was a long time ago, five years to be exact. The old G-Unit, founded in 1967, had gone corrupt and as such was disbanded and reformed with Shiro as its head. "I know you're out there Godzilla, the Sleiphnir couldn't kill you could it. Where are you?" The nation now had Sleiphnir 2 to protect it, and felt relatively safe. After all if the machine beat Godzilla what could destroy it? Most people believed this, but not all. Some saw the Sleiphnir as a toy used to hide Japan's weaknesses, Shiro agreed. His mother had said so as well, until she died two years ago. Now Shiro was alone. Yuki, who had witnessed Godzilla's last attack with him was in America studying G-Cells, what little there where. Shiro looked at the clock, time to go.
Shiro arrived at his apartment. He checked his mail and found some from his old friend Goro Tsujimori. He was in the arctic and found some strange metal that where probably from a meteorite. Yuki had also sent him some mail. She had proven, without a doubt, that Godzilla had remarkable regenerative powers. Vital information in Shiro's opinion as he read the letter aloud to himself (maybe he was going crazy). He looked at the news, scanning work related topics. Shiro's job had become his life. He looked out the window to the street below, than he looked to the horizon. "Your out there. I can feel it."

The Warning
Mrs. Keoni walked into the class room. Somethings going to happen, but what. She was psychic, but her powers paled in comparrison to some of the students at her psychic school. She walked into the class. "O.k. boys and girls, show me what you dreamed about." The children all raised up their drawings of their dreams. They all had something large and green-a tree or a dinosaur. And they all had something red about the bottom. Fire or the sun. Hmm...A dinosaur with a red sun behind it. We are going to the museum next week, guess you can't keep anything secret from these kids. But those trees and the fire, a forrest fire? Than Sarah Jane, the most talented student showed her blank paper to Mrs. Keoni. "What's wrong Sarah, why didn't you draw anything?" Sarah looked into her face. "Godzilla's coming." Mrs. Keoni's young face turned pale and her eyes lost their usual glimmer. The trees where blurry visions, the dinosaurs where Godzilla, the red was fire and destruction. Godzilla was alive. Sarah knew it.
Shiro walked into his office, a little upset. All sorts of things where happening around Japan. Bright lights where seen at sea. An oil tanker had been sunk. A typhoon was overtaken by a booming roar. It must be Godzilla. There's no other explanation. Now there was this pretty little blond girl with her blue eyes looking at him, as if looking into his soul. "Ah Mrs. Keoni, so good to see you again." Keoni looked up with a grim look on her face but managed to force a smile. "Nice to see you too Mr. Yamada." Shiro looked again at the little girl, her stare made him uncomfortable. "You must be Sarah." Keoni pulled him aside. "Mr. Yamada, you know about..." Shiro nodded. Sarah looked at him. "Godzilla is coming. You never stopped him." Shiro sighed, "We will this time, I hope." Sarah was staring at him again. "You can't do that! Godzilla is punishing us! He hates us for what we did to him and I don't blame him! We turned him into a monster can't you see that?! Its not his fault its ours and people like you who want to kill him only make things worse!" Keoni jumped up in surprise. "Sarah!" Shiro held out his hand to show it was allright. "We must destroy Godzilla, Sarah. Its the only way..." Sarah was on her feet now. "Destroy him! You talk like he was a machine! He's not, he's a living thing and he breathes, walks, sees, smells, and feels like we do! He's not just a machine our even an animal! He's more than that, far more, I can feel it!" Shiro lowered himself down to her. "Godzilla has to die Sarah, There's know other way." Sarah stared up at him with anger in her eyes. "No. Godzilla will save us this time, from them." Shiro's eyes widend. Keoni stepped forward. "Who are they Sarah?" she said with a little fear in her voice. "They're here now." she said, "They hate life. They love killing and death. They are worse than Godzilla. I can feel them, feel their thoughts. They are waiting. They're coming soon, waiting for the time to strike. Godzilla will save us this time, I trust him. Godzilla will fight to the very end if he has to. I trust him. Godzilla will save us, from them."

Godzilla Lives!
On a tiny island just south of Japan sat a tiny nuclear reactor. Unused but still active. Only a few people kept an eye on the old plant, just to make sure nothing happen. As the watch man walked slowly around his rounds late that night he felt a slight chill. Ten o'clock. God! Why did I get stuck with this job. He looked out, out into the sea. Boy its peaceful. Too peaceful. Wish something good would happen. Than he saw something. A bright light. Moving towards the island. What the hell is that? Than a head broke the surface, followed by a row of dorsal spines. A booming roar errupted from the creatures mouth. "Godzilla!" Godzilla moved out of the water and walked right pass the guard, no more than twelve feet away. Godzilla made his way to the plant. Than he stopped. What's that damn thing doing. My God its tearring the plant apart! Godzilla reached into the plant and pulled out the reactor. It was warm, it had power, he could feed. The energy flowed up from it, into his body, in through his cells. His spines glew. He was feeding. He hadn't tasted this sort of power in years. He was filled. The energy was gone. He walked back, back to the sea. And then they came. An airstrike. The guard had called them. The jets flew past Godzilla, slightly agitated at their presence. Then they fired. Godzilla was now angered. It had been long since he had felt the thrill of a battle. The love of the fight rose from within and he fired upon them. They where gone. They were no match for him. Shame. Godzilla made his way into the sea. Slowly, regretting that he had no greater foe to deal with...
I've been waiting for you to return Godzilla. I'm going to be your foe this time. You now have me to deal with, Shiro Yamada. I won't let you hurt anyone or do anymore damage, I'll kill you this time. The prime minister walked into his office, for the first time in five years. "Shiro we have a tough time ahead of us. We can't let anyone else know about Godzilla." Shiro looked up, surprised and a little angry. "Your saying we don't tell the nation anything?! The last time you did that Yokohama was wrecked and thousands died!" The prime minister sighd. "We can't let anyone know, it'd start a panic and..." Damn it you bastard if you were capable as a leader you'd know what to do. Later that afternoon Shiro and the prime minister walked out of the building when a group of reporters rushed them. "Mr. Prime Minister, is it true that Godzilla has returned?", a young women asked. "No. That's just a rumor started by paranoid people I'm afraid.", he answered. "But wasn't there a nuclear power plant destroyed?" The prime minister turned. "Yes, an earthquake occured and destroyed the plant, however it was inactive." The young lady seemed unsatisfied and turned to Shiro. "Mr. Yamada, do you have any comments to make." Shiro glanced at the prime minister before responding. "Godzilla is alive and he did destroy a power plant. I plan on doing everything in the G-Unit's power to stop him." The prime minister shot him the dirtiest look one could imagine and dove into a car as the reporters swarmed him and chased the car down the block. Go ahead. Give me all the looks you want to. You can't touch me now. Godzilla is back and I don't plan to sit around this time.

The Attackers Appear
In the arctic, or not far from the circle anyway, Goro Tsujimori was digging for the precious metal he had come looking for. His heart raced as he dug, and then it nearly stopped when he hit something. For a month the team slaved, and finaly unearthed a circular, disk-like object with no apparent entrance. "Incredible! A ship of alien origins!" Goro said. And than it moved. The ship raised into the air and hovered over the team. Goro stared up, and than a blast like a lighting bolt flew down and destroyed the team as the ship moved off toward Japan.
Japan had barred itself off with a massive blockade of battle ships along the south. The Sleiphnir was on guard in case Godzilla did appear and jets where ready to assist. Wakasa Bay had enjoyed peace since the war. Godzilla had never appeared there. An old man looked out at the sea and recited an old hymne he had learned as a boy. Than he saw something. Was it a dragon perhaps? He had heard in his tiny village as a boy that there where good dragons who granted good fortune and bad dragons that gave only distruction. Was this a good dragon perhaps? No. It was Godzilla. Godzilla rose out of the bay and walked on pass the village without destroying it. The old man couldn't beleive the size of this thing. He had heard of Godzilla but never seen him. Godzilla was making his way to Kyoto.
The Sleiphnir was deployed immediantly. Across Japan the cry for victory echoed out, though some where waiting to see the Sleiphnir and its crew be destroyed. Shiro watched the footage he was seeing carefully. The Sleiphnir won't beat him, but we can still learn how to defeat him perhaps from this battle. Godzilla remembered the Sleiphnir from a battle five years earlier. Perhaps this opponent would be more of a challenge. The Sleiphnir moved in and circled Godzilla, never turning its missile ports from him. They had no CX-9 aboard but they'd still win. They opened fire with all missiles. Godzilla roared his challenge and took the hits without flinching. Godzilla seemed to smile then fired relentlessly on the Sleiphnir. The massive craft malfuntioned and fell. Godzilla looked at it, as if disappointed, and then marched toward Kyoto.
The city off Sapporo had become a graveyard five years before when Ghidorah had appeared. Now a new site appeared over the still struggling city. A massive U.F.O. flew over head. Where was it going? The S.D.F. was aware of its presense and had tried to stop it with an air strike. A glowing light covered the ship and then nothing happened. It went on, without even slowing down. Shiro watched both Godzilla and the U.F.O. on two seperate screnes. So that's what Sarah ment. Godzilla and the U.F.O. are running a collision coarse. They'll meet outside of Kyoto. "Should we do something sir?", one of his subordinates asked. "No. Let them meet each other. I'm curious to see what will happen."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Conflict Begins
Godzilla and the U.F.O. met just outside Kyoto. All of Japan watched as they seemed to size each other up. Sarah watched quietly. Godzilla, please be careful. Everyone else wondered who to cheer on in this fight, but not Sarah. Godzilla roared and charged. The U.F.O. didn't move, it just flipped on its side, its bottom side facing Godzilla. A blue swirl appeared and fired a massive beam. Godzilla roared in pain and fell to the ground. Please get up Godzilla. We need you. Godzilla was on his feet and fired, his own blast hitting the target but having little effect. The craft rose into the air and then begin to spin. It's sides flashed with light and it rushed about Godzilla with incredible speed and then hit him in the stomach. A massive gash appeared on Godzilla's stomach, it begin to bleed and then healed. Godzilla roared in anger and fired again at the U.F.O. This time the ship shook and lowered itself. Lightning like bolts fired from its sides and it Godzilla. No effect. No, there was one effect. Godzilla was now thrilled with the fight and a little angry. He fired his most powerful blast yet as the craft advanced, and this time the blue light that had surrounded the ship flashed and was gone. The craft raised into the air, high above Godzilla's head and fired its beam down on the King of the Monsters again. Godzilla fell to the ground but was on his feet shortly. The U.F.O. fired down on Godzilla and he fired his own blast up. The two beams collided and exploded, then the two stopped for a moment. The craft rose high into the air and dissapeared into the outer atmosphere. Godzilla then marched back into the sea, unmolested. Its not over yet. Please Godzilla, help us!

The Situation
Yuki had returned from America. She and Shiro where dining together (, well...doesn't like me very much.", Shiro replied after some thought. Yuki didn't drag that subject on any further. "Do you think this could be as bad as last time Shiro?" "Well, that's Shiro's treat) and she couldn't keep from looking at his handsom face. She remembered Shiro's face scarred by disease, but doctors had delt with it and the scarring. "So now your head of the G-Unit? What do you plan on doing about the U.F.O. and Godzilla?" Shiro looked up from his food. "We don't know. We'll let them fight for a time, until one kills the other and then we will deal with the remainder. No doubt they will be far weaker then before." Yuki looked into Shiro's eyes. He'd changed. Now he was obsessed with Godzilla. Very obsessed. He wanted to kill Godzilla now, five years ago he only wanted to protect people. Now he was gone, the man she had met on that street all that time ago. The man she had stood beside when Godzilla, Onoko, and Ghidorah met in their battles. The man she had left for America shortly after. Their relationship was never a serious one. They went out for a few months after the 86 incendent, but they had dropped the matter and became good friends. "What about the little girl? Sarah?" she asked. "She'll help us I hope. She beleives Godzilla is here to help us though and she said, its just beginning." Yuki thought for a moment. I don't know what's happened to you Shiro, but you've changed.
High above the planet they waited. Sarah could feel it. The hated us. Wanted to kill us. Loved to kill us. They couldn't stand to loose to a lowly creature like Godzilla. They wanted revenge. They had a plan in their soulless minds as well. In the depths Godzilla slept, waiting for his time to return. Then his eyes opened. He stirred. He begin to swim. He was headed west. Sarah saw all this in her sleep. Godzilla, help us! We need you!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fukuoka-Three Days Later
Shiro, Yuki, Keoni, and Sarah all stood in the G-Unit headquarters in Tokyo. They all saw Godzilla emerge from the sea and head for Fukuoka. The S.D.F. tried to stop him, but they where powerless. The Sleiphnir was being repaired, and it would soon be deployed. Godzilla walked through the city. Buildings crumbled. . Godzilla kept going. he turned and brought Fukuoka's tower down with his tail. "Do you see what will keep happening if Godzilla lives Sarah?" Shiro was hoping the girl would blink, but she kept watching Godzilla. "Godzilla will save us." was all she said.
The Sleiphnir was repaired and flew into Fukuoka and fired missiles from its top and front hatch. No effect. Godzilla fired on the opened front hatch and brought the Sleiphnir crashing to the ground. The crew evacuated and Godzilla went about his bussiness. Than they came. They descended from the sky silently, and Godzilla stood, unafraid.
The Craft fired its energy bolts at Godzilla. Godzilla staggered and returned fire. The U.F.O. flipped quickly. A massive distortion seemed to take place just before its bottom surface. Godzilla's beam hit the distortion and was sucked in. On board the ship, something was sucking up the energy. It was now 45% charged. The beings had charged it to twenty five, Godzilla would do the rest. The ship fired on Godzilla with its massive beam, knocking the massive leviathan into a building. Godzilla rose to his feet quickly and the U.F.O. begin to spin. It rushed past Godzilla, slashing him with its sides, the wounds healed almost immediantly. Godzilla fired his most powerfull blast yet on the ship and destroyed its new sheild. The craft hovered over the Sleiphnir and turned on its side again. Godzilla fired. The ship absorbed the blast. 60% charged. They where through. They where going to give their lives so Godzilla could die. The U.F.O. charged the thing with the rest of its needed power, 100%, and then Godzilla fired...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Greater Evil
The blast hit the craft and exploded. Than the remaining metal fragments begin to revolve in the air around something. A growing green blob appeared from the flames. Something was in the center. Jagged rock like objects jutted out from this glob. The saw like sides of the U.F.O. circled this like the rings of Saturn. The thing descended. It begin to merge with the Sleiphnir. What happened next the witnesses would never forget. Even Godzilla seemed to shudder. What seemed to be Godzilla's feet and tail emerged from this blob. The Sleiphnir was melted into armor that surrounded the body, its side ports on the brest plate, armed with missiles. Running down the center of the chest and stomach a saw emerged. Two claws appeared, almost mantis or scythe like. Godzilla's spines emerge on its back, and then transformed into jagged, ice-like spikes. Godzilla's head emergyed from the shoulders. Insect like pincers appeared on its face. There where no eyes. The forhead raised up and a massive read visor emerged from within the skull. The new thing, for thats all you could call it, was born. "What in the name of God?", Shiro gawked in disbeleif. Sarah shuddered. "It's Gigan. They made him to kill Godzilla. He's pure evil. He hates everything, except killing."
Godzilla and Gigan stood, challenging each other. While they did this, Gigan's cybornetic brain calculated Godzilla's strenths and weaknesses. It knew how to kill Godzilla in a split second. Godzilla charged, but was hammered by Gigan's massive claws. Godzilla fired his atomic breath and hit Gigan in the chest. Gigan flew backwards without its feet touching the ground and crashed into a building, its spines stuck. Godzilla charged and Gigan fired its missiles on him, no effect. Gigan begin to glow and than launched itself into the air and flew over Godzilla's head. Yuki couldn't beleive it. "How'd it do that?", she asked. Shiro thought for a moment, "Anti-gravity perhaps?". Sarah looked on. They made it from Godzilla's cells, Godzilla please don't die...
Gigan spun around and the saw on its stomach went wild. It slashed Godzilla's shoulders and blood gushed forth. Godzilla stumbled but the wound healed. Gigan landed and fired a bright red beam from its visor at Godzilla who stumbled and fell to the ground. Godzilla was up again and his spines begin to glow. Gigan had exactly 1.35 seconds to react to this, but that was fine. Gigan could get into the air in exactly a second. It did so just as the blast came a few feet from it. Gigan soared into the sky as a huge mushroom clound appeared under it and towered over Godzilla. Gigan landed behind Godzilla again and seemed to laugh. Godzilla charged and Gigan fired its last missiles into Godzilla's face, blinding him. Again Gigan flew into the air and landed behind him, firing his beam again. Godzilla staggered, than turned and charged at Gigan. Gigan kept bashing Godzilla with his claws as a frightened Sarah looked on. "Shiro you have to do something its killing him!" Shiro turned and considered this a moment. "If Godzilla dies, its for the better." Yuki turned, and punched him. Shiro fell, his lip bleeding. "Look at the battle Shiro! Godzilla is fighting Gigan for the earth and you plan to let him die!? If you do you'll let a far worse danger loose on us. Godzilla attacks us yes but he doesn't love killing. What's worse is if you do let Gigan win you'll let another evil win as well-the new you obsessed with Godzilla's death. What happened to the old Shiro, the one that cared about life and not death?!" Shiro stood, tears in his eyes. She was right. "Send in a group of fighter jets to attack Gigan. Help Godzilla. Also send in the Viper as well." Yes, the Viper. A computer controlled airship with two canisters of CX-9 aboard. The new missiles it was loaded in could be fired at a greater distance and had greater drilling power. The original plan was for it to bore into Godzilla's mouth but now what would Shiro do with it?
Godzilla fell. He reached up, and dug into Gigan's armor with his claws. Gigan roared and let his buzzsaw loose, cutting Godzilla's hand off. Godzilla roared in pain as Gigan relentlessly pounded on Godzilla's skull until blood gushed forth and a cracking sound was heard. Gigan grabbed Godzilla with his claw and cut into Godzilla's throat until Godzilla's blood rushed out over the claw and down Godzilla's chest. Gigan threw his opponent aside and went on to destroy the city with his claws. Godzilla was dead.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Long Live The King
Sarah was crying. Keoni tried to comfort her while Yuki and Shiro looked on as Gigan destroyed building after building. The Viper hoovered just outside the battle as the jets attacked, each one was destroyed, and Gigan enjoyed it. The Viper fired one canister of CX-9 at Gigan's visor, and steam begin to rise from it as the visor begin to rot. The Viper waited for another shot as Gigan roared in anger. It fired its beam at the Viper, amazingly hits head didn't combust has hoped. The Viper backed off, Gigan was still dangerous. Shiro looked at Godzilla. I let you die. You tried to help us, its because of me your dead. I wanted this, but...I'm sorry, Godzilla. Sarah looked up, she had heard his thoughts. She rushed to Shiro and hugged him then she stopped. "Godzilla's alive!", she yelled out. Everyone looked at Godzilla's fresh corpse. No, just a child's wishful thoughts. Than Godzilla's eyes opened and glowed red for a moment. A blue light emersed Godzilla and all the blood he had shed rose into the sky and burnt up. Godzilla's wounds healed. His hand regenerated. Godzilla roared out to Gigan, who turned, afraid. Sarah jumped about. "Kill him Godzilla!" The same feel was felt by all. Godzilla fired, this blast his Gigan in the face, reacted to the CX-9, and caused the visor to explode and then destroyed part of Gigan's cybornetic brain. Gigan staggered about abit, then Godzilla fired again and destroyed a huge chunk of metal armor. A massive amount of wires and intestines hung out, and Gigan fell. Everyone cheered as Gigan fell in defeat. Suddenly it rose up. Even Godzilla was shocked. Gigan's power source was at 30%. It was like a phantom, running off of the power inside. Gigan flew into the air and vanished out into space. Godzilla had saved them all.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion
Godzilla walked out to sea. He had done his job, for the time being. The G-Unit had their chance. They could fire on Godzilla with the Viper's last bit of CX-9. The team urged Shiro to make the order. Sarah held his hand. Keoni looked on. Yuki smiled at him at put her hand on his shoulder. "Let Godzilla go.", he said. Godzilla had saved them. They owed him their lives. Sara smiled as did Keoni. "Do you want to kill Godzilla still Shiro?" Yuki asked. "No. Besides if I had ordered the attack you'd have broken my arm." Yuki smiled. "Actually I would have killed you." Everyone laughed. In the depths of space, Gigan drifted on. It floated out into the ortcloud, its energy running out, and it gave one last roar before it died. Suddenly a comet came through and struck it. Gigan was destroyed, never to be seen again.
