When we grew up, our mothers always told us, “Sticks and stones can hurt your bones but words don’t cause any damage.” Unfortunately, we grew up and realized several things our mothers told us were false, with that included. Unlike our mothers, Barry Champlain does not candy-coat anything for his listeners. They call and share their problems with him and he tells them the truth, however hurtful to the listener it may be. He goes on and on with his listeners sending dead rats and Nazi paraphernalia to the studio, until one day his words damaged one listener so much that he decided to kill him. In the end, Barry’s words caused permanent damage to himself.
