- Review: This movie is much different than what you might expect. But while that may not a good thing for many movies, it is a good thing for this one. A very smart plot with twists and turns everywhere in this movie will keep your interest. The initial storyline, a son (Caviezel) makes contact with his long-since deceased firefighter father (Quaid) through an old frequency radio, frames the movie to be a sad "what can I do to make my life better" type movie. That is, until the secondary plot kicks in. If you can get past the extreme unbelievability of a son in the late 1990s making contact not only with his father in the late 60s/early 70s, but himself at a young age, then this movie is a must see that will not disappoint. If the unrealistic nature of films ruins movies for you, then don't bother with this one.
