- Review: This movie, although in line with many of the cheesy movies that have come out in recent years, stands above the others. The plot is constructed in such a way that the whole storyline plays out very well in this movie. Add that to the fact that the baseball component of this game is not only very well done, but that it is based on the real Cape Cod baseball league. The romantic portion of this movie is also surprisingly well done. The great mix of the action of baseball, the humor of the actors, and the romance of the main couple really make this a very fun, diverse movie. The only downfalls of this movie are the cheesiness of one or two scenes, and the tendency of Freddie Prinze Jr. to overact sometimes. Outside of that, this movie is an absolute surprise as to the high quality of acting, storyline, and filmmaking. Very impressive.
