- Review: If you have ever wrestled, I mean real organized wrestling, this movie rates at least a 4.0. If you haven't, this movie won't hit home as much and will only rank a 2.0. So I picked a happy medium and rated this a 3.0. Although some of the wrestling action and training is very obviously scripted, a lot of the plot is surprisingly realistic. Although Matthew Modine's acting isn't quite stellar, the rest of the acting isn't too bad, with the exception of the character Shute. As mentioned before, the plot is relatively accurate, while at the same time quite interesting. If you never liked sports, give this movie a try. You might be surprised. If you have played sports, this is a movie you can relate to and you should be pleasantly surprised. If you are a wrestler, you should have seen this movie already. If you haven't, go rent it right now. You even get to see Madonna in her early years making a cameo. Although obviously a low budget film, there is something for everyone in this movie.
