If you love Disneyland, this is the place to be! And if you want everyone to know WHY you love it, submit your thoughts, as always. You can email them to me, complete the form below, send me pictures, or all three if you wish! Unless you send an email along with the form saying you don't want form info to be featured here, it will be, so leave out any details, like email addresses,
if you don't want people to see them.
I want to hear all about your family traditions, past journeys, upcoming visits, cast members who deserve to be praised, park tips, anything at all. In front of the carousel in Fantasyland.
I first went to Disneyland in 1989, then again in 1997, and finally in 1999 - all in June or July. The second time I went with my whole family; the final time, just mum and I went for five fun-filled days at the Happiest Place on Earth!
I recommend, as far as tours and parades go, "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps", "Animazement" and most of all "Fantasmic!" which I've now seen countless times. The first time I saw it at the Disney Gallery which was a bit costly, but well worth it, especially if you want to avoid the crowds.
However if you don't mind waiting, you can still get a good view from the ground. My Experiences at Disneyland
The best part of the holiday was when, unexpectedly, we were there for the opening of TARZAN'S TREEHOUSE! I lined up for an hour and subsuquently became the first person to have a photo with Jane at Disneyland! (I'm particularly proud of that one ...) Anyway, the Treehouse is brilliant, and definitely worth a look if you're at Disneyland Park. The Fantasy in the Sky fireworks weren't scheduled to start until several days after we left, but on our last night they had an unexpected practise run! That made for a most magical end to the holiday, and seeing Tinker Bell fly through the air to light the fireworks was a brilliant memory to take home with us.
The construction of California Adventure!
I also mentioned you should submit your family traditions ... we have a few, like spending our nights at Tomorrowland, Fantasyland or Main Street in preference to the other lands unless watching a show - they just seem nicer at that time - and referring to the next attraction we were to visit was "DP1" (Disneyland Position 1) ... way up to DP10 or so, when we generally lost count. (We even have a favourite toilet at the park ... the Prince and Princess ones in Fantasyland!) There are also some landmarks in the park we always take a photo of. So send me your own traditions or past experiences now!
I'm next going to Disneyland, by the way, in 2005 (if I can wait that long - I'll probably succumb long before then!) on July 17, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the park. This year is Disneyland's 45th birthday. If you're there at all this year, hug Mickey for me! (And write about your experiences here, gul-darnit!)
(Oh yeah - and, as I'm not going to Walt Disney World until the end of 2000, if someone would like to write an account of the park, their favourite rides, attractions, shows or anything like that, please do so, and I'll make a page about it.) So email me now!
