Characters at WDW!

Perhaps it's just because I'm a freak, but seeing the characters is one of my favourite parts of a day at Disneyland, and so it's one of the things I'm really looking forward to at WDW as well. I'm like a three year old, hunting them down armed with a camera, autograph book and pen. So I've decided to dedicate the first page of this guide to character-hunting.

(Coming soon ... a page on character dining. Please feel free to send me any reviews or tips.)

There appear to be lots of 'obscure' or less mainstream characters at WDW, and I have gained a general idea (through my various indepth-to-the-point-of-being-annoying "Disney World study") of where you can find them. Here are some of them. (If you don't want to go to the bother of reading this, check down the bottom for places I think you should go if you want to see a few characters at once.)

That's all I've got for the moment, folks ... whoops, nearly slipped into Warner Bros. there for a sec. If anyone has any information on where to find other characters, please fill me in. Also, remember I haven't been there, so my info is sketchy -- please tell me if any of these are wrong!

SO ... let's say time is short and you want to fit in maximum magic in minimum time. Check out these places to see more characters. (Apologies if any of this information is inaccurate.)

TOONTOWN HALL OF FAME in the Magic Kingdom features Winnie the Pooh characters, Mickey and Friends, and Fairy Tale Favourites. The Fairy Tale Favourites change on the hour. Although you have to line up if you want to go back and see more characters, this is a good place to see a lot of them in not too much time.

MGM ENTRANCE has characters around such as Jessie and Bullseye, Jafar, the Genie, Mushu, Meeko, the White Rabbit, and some others as well.

Also in MGM, the BACKLOT THEATRE has characters there most of the time, in an uncrowded and informal atmosphere.

Yep, still at MGM guys, the CHINESE THEATRE also has lots'a characters including Cruella, Mulan and Shang, Pocahontas, Aladdin, Esmerelda, Hercules etc.

The INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY at Epcot has some of the less mainstream characters - Friar Tuck, Smee, Prince John - as well as favourites like Pluto and Goofy.

FANTASYLAND CHARACTER FESTIVAL at the Magic Kingdom. While I'm not exactly sure what this is, I've come across the name plenty of times with characters like Pinocchio, Gepetto and Jiminy, Foulfellow, Gideon and Stromboli. For a Pinocchio fan like myself, this is a must-see.

Hope this helps, gang! Got any tips or tricks, hints, character sightings or photos of you with characters? Also --- if anyone can help --- I NEED to find where Tinker Bell and Pain and Panic hang out! Please drop me a line if you know the answer to this. I can't possibly go there without seeing them!
