Jet Jaguar is a friendly robot built by Goro Ibuki. He has the ability to grow to any size he wants to help fight monsters that may attack Japan. Stolen by evil Seatopians, Jet Jaguar was used to guide the Seatopian god Megalon to destroy Japan. Goro uses a backup control to regain the power of our tin man buddy. He then tells Jaguar to go and get Godzilla from Monster Island to battle the new threat. He does so, and Godzilla appears on the base of Mt. Fuji where Megalon is. Noticing this, Seatopia contacts Space Hunter M and they sent Gigan to aid Megalon. Godzilla seems out matched until Jet Jaguar grows to Godzilla's size. Our heroes defeat the baddies, Jet Jaguar regains his normal size and goes off with Goro and freinds. Here is the prototype pictures that if you look carefully can be seen in Goro's labratory hanging on his wall.
Jet Jaguar was an attempt to bring the popularity of the "Ultraman" series to the Godzilla movies. Toho held a contest to see who could come up with Godzilla's new robot sidekick. The result was created by an 8 year old boy, and was called Red Arone. His name was later changed by Jun Fukuda at the last minute to Jet Jaguar. Jaguar seems a bit out of place in the Toho Universe althogh a pretty creative character. Although he's suppost to be a hero in this story, he's acually pretty wimpy. Godzilla always seemed to be pulling him out of crap that he gets himself into.
