What Jboog Thinks:

Spillin' the Plot:

An asteroid is heading for planet Earth, (It’s a global killer). Mankind will come to an end if the master plan fails. Everything falls into the hands of Harry Stamper and his team of drillers. The team is a wild bunch of guys and Harry’s daughter (who just happens to be in love with A.J. Frost). These men must train to launch into space, sling shot around the moon and finally land two shuttles on the primary target (The killer asteroid the size of Texas). The only hope is to drill 800 feet into the iron like core and plant a nuclear warhead inside to split the sucker in half so both pieces will miss the planet.

What did it do for me?

This movie was full of emotions! I laughed out loud many of times. This movie also made my eyes fill with tears more than once. Very touching and hits the heart with full force. I was on the edge of my seat during the flight heading to the asteroid (suspense was driving me crazy). One scene in particular where Chick went to see his little boy before he went off to outer space really grabbed a hold of my insides. Harry Stamper and the way he is always on A.J. was a nice effect to the story line. Truman, Rockhound, Oscar Choi, Lev, and all the other characters made this movie a 5 star film in my opinion. Its one of those movies that bring mankind together, and at the same time lets the viewers respect life a little more than we did before the movie started. Can’t wait to see it again in a few months.

What my WIFE thinks:

You need a woman’s opinion? Here is what my wife thinks of Armageddon:
*Christal – An incredible movie. Very exciting and at the same time very moving. I had tears in my eyes just about the whole way through. This movie is also very scary. It makes you think about where you would be and with whom, should the Earth ever be in danger. I know I would never be able to do as Grace did and be so calm knowing that both her dad a fiancé were out in space so many miles away, with their lives in danger. I found this movie to be so very real feeling. An excellent movie!

What my DAUGHTERS think:

Well although I thought this movie was awesome! My kids decided they would rather do something else. Samantha went to my bedroom and watched “The Mask” she calls this movie “GREEN FACE”, and Alyssa managed to sit there for about a half an hour, but decided to join her little sister. As for little Mackenzie… If it’s not a funny carton movie with lots of colors and music, she is gone. That’s the nice thing with DVD’s; someday they can sit with dad and watch a good movie, because with DVD these movies will last a long long time.

What about the Babes?

Liv Tyler (Grace) wasn’t to bad looking. There is one particular scene where “A.J.” is playing with animal crackers on her belly… Well those looked like some tasty animal crackers guys! Another good “BABE” scene was before the launch when some of the crew went to a strip bar. What a way to go.

Cool Music?

Like I said before, this movie was full of emotions, and the Aerosmith Music even makes that more powerful! The music rocks folks.

My Bottom Line:

Another great movie to add to your collection! Great action, great emotion, and a cool story line. Mix all this with an awesome cast of stars and walla. Perfection on the big screen.

Would I recomend this movie?

I would defiantly recommend this movie to all my friends and family! Your kids might rather watch “The Mask” But you will still enjoy this one!
