Chapter Sixteen

It was around nine as sleepy Millie came down the stairs with her teddy bear.

"Morning, Millie."

"Morning, Rosie." Millie came and cuddled up in between Jack and Rose on the couch, and she laid her head against Jack's shoulder.

"Did you sleep well, Millie?"

Jack and Rose had been up for an hour, talking about their little one that would be coming soon and how excited the two were about it.

"Yep," Millie responded.

"Are you hungry?" Millie nodded to Rose's question. "What would you like?"

"Eggs and bacon."

"Coming right up." Rose got up, and walked into the kitchen. "Jack, would you like some?"

"Yes, please," Jack responded from the couch. Rose started to cook the eggs and bacon, and in a few moments, Jack, Rose, and Millie were sitting at the table eating. Rose was having some slight morning sickness, so she only had some tea with honey, and two pieces of toast.

"Is that gonna fill you up until lunch?" Jack asked, concerned.

"Yes, but I don't feel so well this morning, so I want to have a light breakfast. I should feel better by lunch." Rose then took a sip of her tea.

Millie drank the glass of orange juice beside her plate, and then set it down. "All done."

"Are you ready to get dressed?"

"Yep," Millie replied.

"Well, come on," Rose said with a smile. Millie jumped out of her chair, and raced upstairs. "Rosie, when is my mommy and daddy coming back?"

"See that big and small hand on the clock?" Rose pointed to the clock, which was over the window. Millie nodded her head. "Well, when both of those hands are on the twelve your mommy and daddy should be here."

Millie smiled. Millie and Rose walked down the stairs hand in hand. Rose saw Jack at the bottom of the stairs, and the magical feeling that she had on Titanic came back to welcome her. Jack kissed Rose's hand, and Rose smiled.

Jack then bent down at Millie's level, and said, "Would you like to go outside with me?" "YEAH!" Millie said with eagerness. Rose laughed. "I'll meet you two out there in a few minutes. I have to clean up the kitchen."

"It already is." Jack smiled.

Rose smiled, and kissed Jack's cheek. "Thank you." Jack nodded his head with a smile. "You're welcome."

"Come on!" Millie pulled Jack's arm.

Jack walked outside, holding Rose's hand. The sun shone, and the birds chirped.

"How about we play hide and go seek?" Rose asked.

"All right," Millie said.

"I'll be it," Jack said. "1...2...3..." Jack started to count off, and Rose and Millie ran off to hide. Millie hid behind a bush, and Rose hid behind a tree. Jack spotted Rose, and walked over. He kissed Rose, and Rose kissed him back.

"I found Rosie." Jack smiled at Rose and she smiled back. "I win! Now it's your turn to be it, Rosie."

"All right. 1...2...3...4..."

Jack hid, and so did Millie.

*****

"Knock, knock." A voice came from the entranceway and Millie's face brightened.

"Mommy!" Millie ran towards Camilla and Johnny.

"Hey, sweetie." Camilla hugged her daughter. "Did you have fun, sweetie?"

"Yep. I made you and Daddy a picture."

"Well, let's see it."

"Okay." Millie ran off in search of the drawing.

"Well, how did Jack take the news?"

"Oh, Camilla, he is absolutely thrilled."

Camilla smiled. "It sounds like you two will be wonderful parents."

Rose smiled. "Thank you, Camilla."

Jack and Millie then came walking towards them.

"See?" Millie handed the drawing to Camilla. Johnny looked at the drawing over Camilla's shoulder. "Oh, Millie. It's beautiful. Thank you." Camilla hugged Millie, and Johnny kissed her. "Well, sweetie, are you ready to go?"

Millie nodded.

"Well, do you have your things?"

"Yep."

"All right, then. Let's go. We'll see you two later. Thanks!"

"You're welcome. Anytime."

"Bye."

"Bye." Rose waved, and she closed the door behind them. "Well Jack, how did you like the first taste of parenthood?"

"I like it. I had a lot of fun."

"Well, there's no doubting that Millie loves you to pieces," Rose said with a smile, walking away from the door.

"Well, she adores you."

Rose smiled. Jack placed his hand on Rose's stomach.

"Do you want to go back inside?" Rose asked.

"Sure."

The two walked inside, and sat down on the couch. Rose leaned her head against Jack's shoulder. "So, what do you wanna do?"

"I don't know. You?"

"How about we just relax?"

"All right."
