A taxi stopped in front of the Brinkley's. At that moment, Max knew that it was Mommy and Daddy.
He ran towards the car, yelling, "Mommy, Daddy!"
Jack scooped up his son. Rose stood beside Jack holding Audrey.
"Max, say hello to your new baby sister--Audrey."
"Wow, she's perty."
Rose laughed. "She is, isn't she?"
Ruth and Jonathan then walked out of their house. "Rose, is that a baby I see in your arms?"
"Yes. I delivered her over in Paris."
Ruth let out a gasp. "You poor dear. Aren't you tired?"
"A little. Would you like to hold her?"
"Sure."
Rose handed over Audrey to Ruth. Jonathan stood over Ruth's shoulder.
"She's beautiful," Jonathan said.
"Yes, she is."
"What did you name her?"
"Audrey Claire Dawson."
"Well, that is surely French." Ruth smiled.
"Well, we thought since the child was born in Paris, and we both liked the name, that it would suit her."
"It surely does. Look at those eyes, Jonathan." Ruth let out another gasp. "And her hair. That is the prettiest shade of brown I have ever seen."
"Let me see!" Max said.
Ruth walked over towards Max, and he looked at the baby.
"Wow. Daddy, how come I don't have brown hair?" Everyone laughed.
"Well, because you have blonde."
"I don't want blonde. I want brown!"
"Now, Max, you have a very pretty type of blonde. Are you sure you want brown?"
There then came a look of concentration on Max's face. "No, I think I like my blonde."
Everyone chuckled.
"So, Jack, did the opening of your paintings go all right?" Jonathan asked.
"Yep. Everything went smoothly. I did get some really good offers."
"Well, it's always good to come back with more money in your pocket than you had before you went there."
"It sure is." Jack smiled. "Well, we should be going home."
"All right. Rose, here you go." Ruth handed Audrey back to Rose.
"Congratulations, Rose." Jonathan gave Rose a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Jonathan. See you two later."
"Okay, Max. Go and give your grandma and grandpa a kiss and tell them thank you." Jack set Max down and pointed to Grandma and Grandpa.
Max ran over and hugged both of them at once. "Thank you, Gandpa. Thank you, Gandma."
"You're welcome, dear." Ruth kissed the top of Max's head, and he ran back to Jack.
"Bye!"
"Bye."

Dear Journal, Our family is now home, unpacked, and safe. Today the Taylors and Cooks came over. Both families were very shocked to see me holding Audrey in my arms, rather than her still in my stomach. Millie held Audrey, and she loved that. She held her practically the whole time when the Jack and I were chatting with Camilla and Johnny. Jack and I gave our gift that we bought for Max today. He loves it, but the first thing he asked was "What is it?" I suppose I would ask that too if my Mother brought me home an odd present such as that. We told him, and now he is very intrigued with Paris, and wants to go. We promised Max that the next time there is an opening for Jack's paintings that we would take him. He seems excited, and he has been asking Jack to have another opening for his paintings. I had to laugh at this. He seemed as if it would happen in two weeks. I shouldn't judge the future, though. Who knows, it might just happen. I suppose I should go and check on Max to see if he's asleep or not. Well, I need to go. I have to go Dr. Mackenzie's early in the morning so she can make sure that Audrey is healthy. Good night.
