Dear Jack,
The children and I are fine. Max asks me practically every day where you are and how you are doing. I tell him the truth, and he always says that he wants to go with you. I have to laugh every time he says that. I'm sorry to say that I had to close your shop, since I didn't want to mess with anything that I shouldn't. So with that, I decided to be a teacher at the local school until you return from war. Max and Audrey stay with Ruth and Jonathan while I'm teaching, and they usually are very good for them. Mother and Jonathan are doing just fine, and ask me every day if I got a letter from you. Jack, I'm so happy that you, Johnny, and Scott are all together. I suppose it is comforting to be together. If you haven't known yet from Scott, Anna is pregnant again. She hopes that she'll have it after Scott comes home. It's getting cold and foggy here, too. I can't even see anything when I walk to Mother's every morning with Max and Audrey. Jack, I miss you so much also, and so do Max and Audrey. I can't wait until you come home.
Love forever,
Rose
Dear Journal,
I just got done writing to Jack. I can't wait until the next letter so I can write back. I'm going to save all his letters, and keep them right beside the bed. I read the letter that Jack wrote to Max, and Audrey and Max really liked that. Anna is having really bad morning sickness since she's pregnant. I hope that she gets over it. I really didn't have it that much when I was pregnant, but I still hope that she gets better. Gosh, I can't believe that Max is already five! I hope that Jack will be home for his sixth birthday, but then again I hoped that Jack didn't have to go to war.
