From The Diary Of Margaret Brown
Dear Journal,
I just got back from my travel from Egypt. It was ravishing hot there, and I got sick also with the flu. I thought it would be nice to go to there a second time since all my souvenirs went down with the Titanic. I got different souvenirs this time, even better than the first ones. Well, when I was in Egypt, I got a letter from my friend Ruth DeWitt Bukater. I had my mail and telegrams forward to my hotel I was staying at. I haven't heard from her since I saw Rose and Jack on the ship towards Paris, and without hesitation I opened it. It was saying how they would love for me to come and visit them sometime in Virginia, and to come anytime. I wrote back to her saying that I would be visiting shortly. Well, after I was back in America, I took a train towards Virginia, and then a taxi to the neatest hotel. I then took another taxi towards the Brinkley's residence, and met Jonathan. He seemed like a nice man, and Ruth seemed very happy with him. There house was beautiful, and even as an old couple, they were still young at heart. I then decided to go and visit my two young friends, Jack and Rose. Rose beautiful like always, and Jack was still handsome with his artist hands. There two little ones were just like their parents. Their oldest one, Max, is five, and Audrey is two. Now walking and talking. Max has such a big imagination, and is very outgoing. Audrey has her father's artistic abilities. Place a pencil in her hand, and a piece of paper on the floor, and she will scribble and draw until there is no more white on the paper. There home was very heartwarming. They had cookies and beverages out waiting for guests to eat. Max was bursting out questions to me about Egypt. Rose told me that on his tenth birthday that they will take Max to anywhere he would like to go. It seems that he is really excited about it, and they said they would do the same for Audrey. Jack seems to like his job. He owns a gallery which used to be own by an author, and not only does he sell paintings, but he sells his own also. During the war, Rose was a teacher since she had to close the gallery because Jack was at war, but after Jack came home she stopped her teaching to be with her children. Max starts kindergarten very soon, and Rose is worried about it. She said, "I'm not quite sure how Max will dwell around children the same age as he is. With Jack's sense of humor, and my personality...you never know." I just laughed and agreed with her. -M.J.B
