Peter in the on line chat room

out the transcript below for the full story.
Q: Who was the first housemate you thought about when you got out of the house
and why?
Peter: Umm...Chrissy, because I was worried about her. I don't like being anyone
being sad, and she gets pretty emotional.
Q: Why do you think you got evicted?
Peter: I haven't been well over the last 10 days, and because of that
I've been quite short and grumpy with people, which didn't help. From the public
perspective, I think that might have come across as well.
Q: How did you become interested in wine making? You spent time in New Zealand
doing this didn’t you? What areas were you in?
Peter: I was actually cooking in restaurants and got sick of being
abused by chefs so I started working on the restaurant floor, and with food
comes wine, so I got into wine. I studied viticulture in Christchurch, NZ
(Christchurch Polytechnic for 18 months, and a few wineries in Canterbury).
Q: Did you watch Big Brother tonight? If so what was your reaction to Johnnie
after probably hearing about what the outside world thinks of him?
Peter: Yes, I watched it. It goes to show that he is a very sensitive
guy, and not a bad bone in his body. I really think people have the wrong
perspective of Johnnie... he's not macho, he's just himself. He doesn't care
what people think of him.
Q: What has been your most rewarding experience from the whole Big Brother saga?
Peter: Physically? Learning to juggle and walk on stilts. Mentally?
Surviving 7 weeks without losing my mind! (laugh)
Q: How do you think being part of BB has changed you?
Peter: I don't think it has yet. All I did was be myself the whole time
in there, and I think friends/family will vouch for that. The weird thing is
going to be meeting the public who know me as well as my friends know me,
and I don't know them!
Q: What is your opinion of Anita? Is she trying to psyche out everyone with her
inside knowledge of them?
Peter: If I was
still in there, 2 votes! The boys, for sure will vote for her! She's history. I
don't think she knows any better... she thinks she's right, full stop. If she's
doing it, she doesn't know she's doing it, she's just that way.
Q: What do you feel was the hardest thing about being in the house?
Peter: Not being able to say things to people, especially Chrissy...
emotional things, because you knew it was never a one on one thing. Not being
able to express your feelings towards people - that was the hardest thing.
Q: How did you really feel when Rachel and Anita were placed into the house all
of a sudden?
Peter: Initially? Shocked, because it came after the Ebony episode,
which we were distressed about. But then, you had to laugh, because BB kept
throwing things at us and there's nothing you can do, so you've just gotta
laugh!
Q: Why did you choose Surf Life Saving Aust. as your charity? And what's the
story behind the gimp mask?
Peter: They do a fantastic job - volunteers, we need them. I've been at
beaches with no surf lifesavers; I've seen people drown, and that's been a bit
of a shock. Each beach deserves to have one. It's volunteers on a weekend, which
is always the hardest time to get young fit people... and I just joined! [The
gimp mask:] All shall be revealed on the Uncut Show on Thursday night!
Q: You are a wine lover - what's your favourite two whites and favourite two
reds?
Peter: Favourite whites: Scanovino Garvi , Binbadgin Semillion. Reds:
at the moment, Leckenfield 98 Cabernet, and umm...it's been so long...Otago
Pinot Noirs.
Q: Do you reckon that Gordon made up a lot of the stories he came out with?
Peter: Umm... no, I don't think he was making it up. All you've gotta
do is go to 3 or 4 dance parties to hear that. There was no point in making up
stories. None of us got in there by making up lies, especially the elimination
process we went through!
Q: What was your opinion of Lisa? Was she more vocal than we were led to
believe?
Peter: The last week before she left? Yes. She felt she was doing a
fence-sitting thing. Perhaps it just took her that long to warm up. Good person,
not my type of person as such, I can relate to her and still have a good time
with her, but I can't see myself calling her and saying come and stay at my
house. We had fun together, though.
Q: There seemed to be a bit of tension there between you and Blair (coming from
him more so). Was this fair dinkum and something that you were aware of or was
it just the way it came across?
Peter: I was, as I said, not well and quite grumpy - Blair's a
sensitive guy and I think I was saying things that were giving him the shits,
and that was understandable... it was something I couldn't really control. I
think that's how Blair shows you he's pissed off.
Q: Didn’t you realise after saying such an arrogant thing "You never say
'we've gotta talk' to a boy" that the entire Australian female population
would think you're a pig?
Peter: No. Because you're not sure what people see.. .and someone said
to me on the outside, anytime someone says, "we've gotta talk", I run
the other way, male or female. And it is in Cleo! We've read it 10 million
times!
Q: What do you think of Gretel Killeen? Do you think she was having a go at you
last night?
Peter: Nah! No! I think Gretel's got a really good sense of humour, and
she's definitely a good choice as host!
Q: I want to know if you are really going to have a relationship with Chrissie
after she gets out or were you just telling her that to make her happy?
Peter: We're going to give it a shot when she gets out. It's a totally
different atmosphere, which is a really strange way to go into a relationship.
I'm willing to give it a shot, I don't know what she's thinking, but that's the
hardest part because we couldn't talk. But yeah, willing to give it a shot.
Q: You said you don't have a job. What would you like to do now?
Peter: Music-related, and maybe TV related. MTV would be good!
(chuckle). Something to do with music would be nice - the only thing I really
know about the music scene is that I like it, so I have a lot to learn!
Q: What did you give to Gretel on Sunday night?
Peter: Billionaire card game, signed by everyone in the house. I think
we built up a strange rapport, the two of us. Jem mentioned just before eviction
that it was the first time Gretel had ever spoken to her. Sara-Marie, however,
hasn't been impressed!
Q: Before you were evicted, did you prefer to get evicted first or Chrissy?
Peter: Probably me, because Chrissy wants it more than me. She wants to
stay. I was happy, I had personally achieved what I wanted to achieve - Chrissy
wants more - not the whole hog, it's not just a money thing, but she wants to be
in the last 3.
Q: Do you think your years at an all boys boarding school affects the way you
relate to women?
Peter: Definitely, without a doubt. I've been out now for 11-12 years.
The first 5 years were pathetic, to say the least, especially with all boys, all
boarding, with no outside influences, the only female contact being teachers
over 50 and our sisters, so yeah, without a doubt!
Q: What happened between you and Christina under the dancing doonas? Did you
want full on penetrative sex but she didn't? Would you have had sex on camera?
Was it just mutual masturbation that you guys got up to?
Peter: Nothing. (wink). Sex on camera? No. My parents are watching!
Q: In what way was Ben funny, as every evictee comments on his humour?
Peter: Ah... his dry wit, the way he... he uses his memory to be funny.
It sounds stupid, but I've never seen anyone retain so much information, so much
useless information, like Ben, then spit it out two weeks later. He asked me all
these weird questions, then two weeks down the track, he brings all this stuff
out of nowhere... it's just strange. It's hard to explain!
Q: The boys said they when they tossed they put it somewhere...where did it go?
Peter: You roll over and stay on one side of the bed all night.
(chuckle). I think Johnnie or Ben said it to Sara-Marie about using a sock... it
was just said, and she made an issue out of it, but it didn't happen. But maybe
it was Johnnie?!?
Q: Have you had a chance to catch up with the other evicted housemates?
Peter: No, no, been way too busy, unfortunately.
Q: All the chat rooms are saying that you are gay! Any truth in that?
Peter: I have lived with gay flatmates and not touched any of them. I
have many many gay friends and I've been hit on many many times by gay men. The
other thing is, why I'm happy around gay men is that I'm comfortable in my
sexuality and with women, I've never experimented with men. And those people
that DON'T like gay people are missing out!!!!!
Q: Do you feel weird now knowing who nominated you?
Peter: Umm.. yeah... I almost didn't want to see it, and I didn't know
that I would see it on eviction night. I don't think I would have watched it for
a good couple of weeks if I hadn't been forced to watch it - it was UN! But
everyone has to vote, but I didn't feel good about it.
Q: If you could go back, would there be anything you would do differently?
Peter: Umm... no, the only disappointment I have is getting sick, and
that was totally out of my hands. It's not an excuse for how I acted in the last
couple of weeks, but it's my only disappointment.
Q: Peter how do you think Chrissy will cope now you’re not in the house?
Peter: I'm not sure, it will be very interesting to see - not that she
needs me as a crutch but she
will now attach herself to someone. Not too sure who, maybe Sara-Marie... but
she's going to get nominated again and again. It will be interesting to see. Her
friends told me last night that she's a lot more different, a lot stronger on
the outside, so we'll just have to wait and see.
Q: What do you think of Johnnie's reaction to you being evicted?
Peter: Johnnie is a very caring boy, and he is only ever genuine. His
comments of how he's becoming very emotional in the house - everything builds up
and builds up and you just crack, you've got to let your emotions out somehow
and there's no real release. Running helped me with a little anger management -
a punching bag would have been good! Johnnie's lucky in that he can cry and get
it out... I can't, and it shows just how relaxed he can be. Blair and myself are
quite highly strung - angry young men!
Final words:
Be nice to Johnnie! A lot of it's editing. I was in there 24/7 with the
guy, he's great value. I'd like to say hello to all my friends in NZ! Be nice to
me and say hello if you see me on the street.. .please!
