3 GUYS, A GIRL, AND A ROSE
Chapter Twenty-Four
Tommy came back to Christina's room. She was
reading a magazine. Christina looked up at him and smiled.
"You okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine. Where's Fabri?"
"He went to go get you some food. I
don't think you want hospital food." Christina laughed.
"You're right. I don't. Thank you,
Tommy, for being here when I need you the most."
"It's no problem! I love you. You're one
of my best friends. Of course I'll be here for you." Tommy meant each
word. He loved her. He was in love with her. Christina took his hand, rubbing
it softly.
"I love you, Tommy. I love you and
Fabrizio for being here with me."
Tommy smiled at her. He didn't know what he'd
do if he hadn't gotten here in time. He was lucky that it wasn't serious. He
sat on the bed and she leaned his head on his shoulder, holding her hand still.
The other hand stroking her hair. She looked at him and he kissed her nose. He
wanted to kiss her so badly, staring into her eyes.
"Hey I brought pizza!" Fabrizio
came in. Tommy and Christina let go of each other and Tommy grabbed the pizza
box from him. "Thank you! So what do you want babe? Pepsi, Sprite, or
Snapple? Your choice."
"I'll take a Snapple." Fabrizio
handed her the Snapple bottle, happy he could make her smile.
The three of them ate their pizza. Not
mentioning Jack at all. They told each other stories, and jokes. Memories
they've had with each other, still not mentioning Jack.
By the time it turned 8:30 p.m., Dr. Spencer
came in, telling them that visiting hours were over.
"Alright babe! That's our cue! Good
night sweetie." Fabrizio said he hugged her and kissed her cheek.
"I'll be downstairs." Tommy nodded.
"Sleep tight." Christina held onto
his hand. "I'll go by your house and pick up your clothes. I'll be here
for you by twelve in the afternoon."
"Thank you Tommy!" Tommy leaned
down and kissed her on the top of her head. Her eyes were closed and she slept
silently. "I love you," he whispered and left the room.
