3 GUYS, A GIRL, AND A ROSE
Chapter Thirty-Three

Christina got into her apartment after walking home, happy that she wasn't alone with Jack. She had to get out of there. He was ignoring her again for Rose. She couldn't take it.

She plopped down on her couch taking off her shoes. She rested her feet on the coffee table happy to be home. Dinner with Jack was so uncomfortable. She couldn't even look him in the eye. She turned the TV on and flipped through the channels. She left it on MTV. Just then her cell phone rang. She dug through her purse. She hoped it was Tommy or Fabrizio. It wasn't. It was Jack. She clicked the talk button.

"Hello."

"Hey Chris."

"What do you want? I thought you were on the phone with your girlfriend."

"Obviously I am not if I am talking to you."

"So what do you want?"

"Why'd you leave like that?"

"Because I wanted to."

"You could have said bye."

"You looked busy."

"I was on the phone. You could have said you were leaving."

"You were on the phone with her. You always ignore me when you are on the phone with her."

"Stop giving me shit."

"Whatever."

"How many times do I have to say sorry?"

"Until I know when to forgive you."

"When will that be?"

"Oh, I don't know. When you're dead."

"Christina, please. I really need you."

"For what?"

"To be the way we were before."

"What? Being best friends before you met her?"

"Yes."

"You want to be my best friend again, and still say you love me while you are in love with miss flower?"

"Yes and her name is Rose. I do love you, Christina. I care for you a lot, but I'm just not in love with you."

"Yeah well, I'm not in love with you either." She said lying to herself.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I'm fine."

"Positive? So if you see me with Rose you're not gonna go crazy?"

"Yeah. I'll be fine. I'll prove it to you. Don't think you're the center of my world."

"Alright then. So could we still hang out? Like we use to?'

"Yeah. Whatever."

"Good. I'm gonna go now. I'll talk to you later. I love you."

"Yeah. Right. Bye."

"Say it."

"Say what?"

"What I want to hear."

"You're crazy Jack."

"I'm not hanging up until you say it."

"Fine, I'll hang up first. Bye." Christina pressed the End button on her cell phone and threw it back in to her bag.

She knew it was a lie telling Jack she wasn't in love with Jack anymore. She knew they'd never be anything more than friends. She just had to wait until she moved on.
