NEW DAY
Chapter Four
Rose walked into the movie set the next day
with sunglasses and a long-sleeved shirt on.
Jack noticed, and he knew that Keith had been
in there the day before, so he decided to talk to Rose.
"Hey, Rose. Can I talk to you?"
Jack asked.
"Sure," Rose replied.
Jack took Rose outside. "Stop hiding it.
What happened?"
Rose took her sunglasses off, and she had a
bruise on her eye. She then rolled up her sleeves, and she had bruises all
over.
"What happened?" Jack asked.
Rose started crying. "I told him you
kissed me."
Jack hugged Rose. Amazingly, she hugged him
back.
"I never wanted you to get hurt,"
Jack said.
"I know," Rose replied.
"You can't stay with him," Jack
said.
Rose looked at Jack. "I know. When he
comes over today, I'm breaking it off."
Jack smiled at Rose. "Do you want me to
be with you?"
"No. I think it's time I stood up for
myself. I know I can face him. I've just never had the courage," Rose
replied.
Jack gave her a hug. "Call me after you
break up with him."
Rose agreed, and started walking to her
trailer. She dreaded doing this, but it was time to stand up to Keith.
