NEW DAY
Chapter Nine

Rose looked at her stomach. It had grown through the past few months, and she was due any day now.

Jack came in and saw Rose looking at herself. "You look beautiful."

Rose smiled, then noticed the rings on her finger. Her and Jack's wedding had gone perfectly, just the way she wanted it to.

"I know," Rose said with her Hollywood accent.

Suddenly, Rose felt a burst of pain shoot through her. "Oh, my God, Jack!"

"What?" Jack asked, now coming closer to her.

"My water broke," Rose replied.

Jack took Rose's hand. "What do we need?"

"Doctors," Rose said, as a slight contraction moved through her.

Jack started panicking, and grabbed his keys and Rose's hand.

Once at the hospital, Rose and Jack got the only doctor on duty.

"If you want to come back here, you're going to have to put on the scrubs," the doctor told Jack, who was now panicking more.

Jack nodded and put on the scrubs as the doctor ordered. He walked into the room to find Rose, her hair sticking to her head from sweat.

"Jack!" she screamed.

Jack ran over to Rose. "Rosie, are you all right?"

"No. It's normal for me to have a baby the size of a cow coming out of me!" Rose exclaimed.

Jack laughed slightly, but Rose couldn't tell. She was in too much pain.

Four hours passed, and the doctor said it was time to push.

Jack started to leave, but Rose grabbed his hand. "I need you."

Jack held onto Rose's hand. "Okay."

Rose pushed, and after what seemed to her like an eternity, she gave birth to a baby boy and a baby girl.

"They're beautiful, Rosie," Jack said.

Rose looked at her children. "Oh, they're so tiny!"

Jack gave Rose the baby boy. "Here's your son."

Rose held the tiny being in her arms. "Jackson."

Jack looked down at Rose, who now named the baby boy in her arms, "Jackson William Dawson II."

Jack looked at the baby in his arms. "Reagan Ashleigh Dawson."

Rose smiled at Jack. "I love you, Jack."

Jack took Rose's hand, and looked at his two children and wife. "I love you, too."

The family was in a small group, and both of the parents knew that this is something they would always remember.

I've run from these feelings for so long
Telling my heart I didn't mean it
Pretending that I was better off alone
But I know that it's just a lie
So afraid of taking a chance again
So afraid of what I'd feel inside.

But I need to be next to you
I need to share every breath with you
I need to know I can see you smiling each morning
Look into your eyes each night
For the rest of my life.

Here with you,
Near with you
Oh I
I need to be next to you.

Right here with you is right where I belong
I'd lose my mind if I could see you
Without you there is nothing in this life
That would make life worth living for
I can't bear the thought of you not there
I can't fight what I feel anymore.

'Cause I need to be next to you
I need to share every breath with you
I need to know I can see you smiling each morning
Look into your eyes each night
For the rest of my life.

Here with you,
Near with you
Oh I
I need to be next to you.

I need to have your heart next to mine
For all times
Hold you for all my life
I need to be next to you.

I need to be next to you
Need to be need to be next to you
Share every breath with you
I need to feel you in my arms babe
In my arms, babe
I need to be next to you.
