LOVE DOESN'T ASK WHY
Chapter Six
"Jack! Wake up, man," Mike said, nudging
Jack on the shoulder.
"Huh? What?" Jack asked, standing
up.
"One word, Jack. Wedding," Mike
said.
"Oh, crap," Jack said.
"Go get in the shower. I’ll change in
your bedroom," Mike said.
"All right. Thanks, man."
At Jessica’s...
"Rose, it’s your wedding day,"
Jessica whispered into her ear.
"I’m going to get in the shower,"
Rose said, running to the bathroom. After Rose got done with the bathroom, they
were ready to go. They decided to take Jessica’s car, and Rose and Jessica
would change at the church. Rose was silent all the way to the church.
"Oh, Rose, I know what you feel like. Try
to think about sailing on the Titanic II, and how much fun it will be,"
Jessica said, talking to Rose, but still watching the road.
"Oh, Jessica, I’m just so filled up with
thoughts in my head about Jack that I can’t think straight," Rose said, resting
her head on her hand.
"Try not to think about Jack. Think
about Mark. Just try it," Jessica said, looking at Rose.
"Thank you for your help," Rose
said, and she looked at her engagement ring, trying to calm herself and tell
herself that this was the man that she was going to spend the rest of her life
with.
"We're here," Jessica said, and she
turned off the car. Rose looked over at Jessica and smiled at her, then opened
the door. Rose and Jessica went into the room above the chapel to change. When
Rose’s dress was on, and when Jessica’s was also on, she helped Rose with her
hair. "Getting excited, Rose?" Jessica asked as she pinned on the veil.
"Yes, quite," Rose said, sighing.
"Quite."

"Well, here we are at the church,"
Mike said, and turned off the car’s ignition. "It looks like we are early,"
Mike said as he pointed to the front of the church.
Jack could see people crowded around the steps,
waiting for something. He and Mike were beginning to climb the church steps
when they heard cheering coming from the group. Jack couldn’t help but look
over at the commotion. He saw Mark and Rose run through the flying rice. Jack
could tell that Rose was smiling happily, but he felt like a part of himself
was missing.
As Mark and Rose approached the limo, Rose
looked over and saw Jack. Her smile became a smile of shock, and Rose stared at
him.
"Hey, Rose. Come on. The wedding
reception is in a few minutes," Mark said as he nudged Rose. Rose looked
back at Mark and nodded her head, and she entered the limo.
Jack looked down at the steps and sighed. He
kept on going up the steps.
Rose sighed as she took a sip of her
champagne in the limo.
