FALLING INTO YOU
Chapter Twelve

Jack woke up in a hospital bed, with horrible pain coming from his arm where he had been shot. The first thing that Jack saw was Rose above him, and her warm hand holding his.

"Rose?" Jack asked.

"Hi," Rose said. "You have been sleeping for an hour or so. I wasn't sure when you would wake up."

Jack smiled, and said, "What happened? The last thing I remember is me saying something about a lift."

Rose smiled, and said "We escaped from the mansion, and you the doctor said that you're all right. You gotta wear a sling, though, and you also missed supper. It was good. I saved some for you if you're hungry."

"That's all right, but maybe later. When do you leave?" Jack asked.

"Tomorrow. I leave tomorrow," Rose said, sighing.

"God, I'll miss you," Jack said.

"I'll miss you, too," Rose said, and a tear came down her eye.

Jack raised his hand and wiped it off. "Don't cry, Rosie. I'll write to you, or then I can be high-tech--e-mail," Jack said, trying to make Rose feel better.

"I'll write to you, too. How about both?" Rose asked.

"Even better," Jack said.

Rose took Jack's hand, which was rubbing against her cheek, and kissed it. Fabrizio and Tommy came in, and smiled.

"Jack, you're finally awake!" Tommy said.

"Hey!" Jack said, sitting up.

"When we heard that you got shot, all the ladies started to cry," Fabrizio said, coming closer to Jack.

Tommy punched Fabrizio in the arm, and Fabrizio then got the message. Rose smiled and laughed. She knew that Jack still liked her. Then the doctor then came in with his clipboard, and saw Rose holding Jack's hand, and everyone else beside Jack.

"Was I interrupting something?" the doctor asked.

"Nope, we're just telling Jack to get well soon!" Fabrizio said.

"All right. Well, I need to examine Jack and see how he's doing," the doctor said.

"All right. See you later, Jack," Tommy said.

Rose kissed Jack's forehead, and said, "I'll miss you, Jack Dawson."

Jack shook his head, and said, "Don't say your good-byes now. Call me or come and see me before you leave."

Rose smiled, and said, "I wasn't even thinking about that. I was saying that I'll miss you over the night."

Jack smiled, and said, "I'll miss you, too."

Rose then left the hospital to go to the hotel. Jack sighed as Rose left the hospital room.

"So, Jack, how do you feel? Is that arm doing okay?" the doctor asked, feeling his heart.

"I feel okay, but my arm hurts a lot," Jack said.

Rose entered her hotel room, and flopped down on her bed.

"Rose, is Jack all right?" Rachel asked.

"Yes, he's fine," Rose said, looking out her window in an endless stare.

"Rose, are you okay?" Jessica asked, sitting down next to Rose.

"No. I'm just going to miss this place when we get on that plane tomorrow," Rose said, standing up from the bed and looking out the window.

Jessica and Rachel looked at each other, and knew that tomorrow would be a day long remembered.

"I'm going to go pack," Rachel said.

"Yeah. Me, too," Jessica said, and they both left for Rose to pack.

Rose looked out her balcony, to see men out there with signs.

"I can't believe this," Rose said, looking at the men with signs.

Rose leaned her head on her hand and sighed. Rose then went back inside, since it was quite chilly outside. Rose opened up her suitcase on the bed, and started to pack.

Rose started to fold her clothes up, and put them into her suitcase. As Rose was placing her dirty clothes into her laundry bag, she stumbled across Jack's wristwatch. Rose held the watch and remembered that wonderful night that they had together. All her comfort was revived with this. Rose placed it into her purse, and decided to give it back to him tomorrow.
