FROM NOW UNTIL ETERNITY
Chapter Seven

The party was well underway as Jack, Rose, and Moira pulled up in front of the club known as the Quarry.

"Finally we’re here!" Moira hopped out of the car and headed inside, ready to dance her problems away.

"Jack." Rose grabbed his arm before they entered, her insecurities rising to the surface. She had never felt so nervous in her life. This was a whole new environment for her. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"Yeah. Don’t worry. You’re with me. That’s all that matters." He squeezed her hand in reassurance. He knew just how nervous she must be, and he was going to do everything in his power to make her feel comfortable.

Rose felt like covering her ears with her hands as they entered the club. Looking around, she saw everything from purple hair to pierced body parts. She clung to Jack’s hand for dear life.

"This must be punk night." Jack looked at her apologetically. "I’m sorry, Rose. It’s not usually like this. Do you want to leave?"

Rose swallowed and nodded. She wasn’t ready for any of this. She hated her lack of courage just then. She looked up at Jack as he squeezed her hand.

"It’s okay. I understand. Punk night is a little bit much for newcomers to the Quarry. We’ll go see a movie or something."

They pushed their way through the crowd until Jack spotted Moira dancing with a boy dressed in black leather with spiked hair.

"Moira!" Jack shouted over the music. His friend stopped dancing and faced him.

"Yeah?"

"I’m taking Rose out of here! Can you find a ride home tonight?"

"Yeah! Spike will take me!" Moira nodded at her dancing partner. "See you tomorrow!"

"Okay!" Jack waved. Five minutes later, they were standing outside, enjoying the refreshing, cool air.

"That’s better." Rose sighed in relief. "I’m sorry, Jack. You must think I’m a terrible wimp."

"No, I don’t. Punk night is not for newcomers. I forgot what day it was, so it’s my own fault. So what kind of movie do you want to see? Spiderman, or are you holding out for Star Wars, Episode 2?"

Rose giggled. "Well…I’m kind of holding out for Episode 2. Hayden Christensen is so cute." She blushed and laughed at Jack’s pout. "But not as cute as you. Come on. You can’t tell me that Natalie Portman doesn’t make you hot."

"Well…maybe just a little." Jack laughed as they got in the car. "But she doesn’t do to me what you do."

Rose arched her brow. "What do I do to you?"

Jack leaned down until his face was so close to hers that she could feel his warm breath on her cheek. "You make me hot all over."

"Jack…" She never finished the sentence. His heated kisses made all rational thought flee her mind. Her hands dove into his shaggy blond hair as he leaned her back against the car seat. She moaned in pleasure as his lips left hers and he began working on her neck. She clung to him as if he was her life preserver. She couldn’t stop moaning his name over and over as he took her to heights she had never been to before.

"Jack." She sighed as he pulled her closer.

His hands were about to go into her shirt when the car was suddenly surrounded with light. Jack quickly pulled away, to see Charlie the security guard smiling in at them. Blushing furiously, Rose straightened her hair and clothes.

"You two kids have been sitting here for a while. Is there a problem?" The guard feigned innocence at interrupting the passionate moment.

"No, sir. We were just leaving." Jack glanced at the guard before starting the car and pulling out of the parking lot. Rose began to giggle as she imagined the guard’s face if he had come by just a little while later. It would have been priceless.

"What’s so funny?" Jack smiled at Rose’s laughter.

"Oh, Jack, imagine if we had gotten a little bit further…imagine the look on his face."

Jack smiled. "That would teach him about shining that light into car windows." His smile faded as he remembered what they had done. He looked at Rose and noticed the darkening places on her neck where he had kissed and sucked numerous times. He felt a hot blush heat his face. "Rose…I-I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what got into me back there."

"Jack, you weren’t the only one. I was ready and willing to let you do whatever you wanted. Your arms and lips felt so good, and for the first time, I felt like I was where I belonged. I’ve never felt that way with anyone before."

"Neither have I, Rose. I’ve never felt ready to go that far with any girl before. You’re special, Rose. Real special. I think…I think I’m falling in love with you." He pulled up in front of her apartment building.

"Oh, Jack." She threw her arms around him, enjoying the warmth of his body so close to hers. "I’m falling in love with you, too."

Jack pressed his lips against hers, and they soon got lost in one another again. Rose was the one to pull away, gazing lovingly into his eyes.

"I’d better get in; Mother will be worried."

"I’ll see you tomorrow, then." Jack tucked a red curl behind her ear. "Sweet dreams, Rosie."

"Sweet dreams." Rose sighed, kissing him one last time before hopping out of the car and disappearing into the building.

Somehow, Jack and Rose knew that this was indeed the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
