JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter
Twenty-Four
Rose was getting
prepared for dinner with Dominique in their room on the ship.
"So, Dominique
how are your feelings toward Fabrizio?" Rose asked as she applied some eye
shadow on.
Dominique smiled to
herself. "Well, Rose I like him. He's really sweet and all, but I just
know that we're not meant to be."
"Now Dom,
don't forget, you were the one who did it with him on the beach."
Dominique turned
around and looked at Rose's reflection in the mirror. "That trip was so
much fun," she said. "Remember when we all played Volleyball?"
Rose smiled.
"Yeah, we gotta go back sometime," Rose said.
"It won't be
the same without Tonya," Dominique whispered as she thought about her
friend. "I don't think it will ever be the same anymore."
Rose smiled sadly
at herself in the mirror. "I know."
Soon, they were
almost ready for dinner. The boys then knocked on their door, and they let them
in.
Jack went over to
Rose and kissed her. "Hey honey."
"Hi sweetie,
we were just talking about the beach house."
Jack laughed.
"Remember when we played strip poker, I never seen that sight of
Fabrizio."
Fabrizio gave him a
sarcastic look and helped Dominique fasten her dress.
As they all walked
down to dinner, they we're pretty sure they were all thinking about the same
thing. Tonya. It really wasn't the same without her. Tommy knew that better
than anyone.
Once they got
there, they all were seated. Jack was hoping they wouldn't run into Caledon
Hockley. That's the last thing that anyone needed right now. Rose was starring
off into space. She was thinking back when her and Tonya were just five years
old having a tea party in Tonya's backyard.
Jack waved his hand
in front of her face, bringing her back into reality.
"You okay
Rose?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah, I'm
fine."
As they were eating
dinner they talked about the past, even though it made everyone a little sad
and depressed.
"Remember the
sleepover at Dominique's house?" Fabrizio asked.
"Yeah, that
was the first time me and Rose..." Jack trailed off after realizing what
he was saying. Fabrizio cracked up laughing.
"That was the
first time you two had sex? Man! I thought you did it that one night at Mark's
party!"
Rose blushed. She
looked over at Jack who was throwing rolls at Fabrizio.
"Well, if I'm
not mistaken, you and Dom were the one who had sexual intercourse on the
beach!" Jack yelled.
Everybody in the
room looked at him like he was crazy. Tommy was getting a kick out of all of
this. Tommy had decided something. When they thought of Tonya, he was going to
be happy, not sad. He knew that he would see her again, in Heaven.
Rose looked over to
Tommy who was smiling. "Tommy, you okay?"
Tommy glanced at
Rose and smiled bigger. "I'm gonna be fine."
