JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter
Twenty-Five
Rose woke up to the
sound of her alarm clock, what a dreadful sound. It was 6:00 AM. Rose went to
her closet and picked out an outfit. It was a pair of jeans with an orange Nike
shirt.
Rose was so glad to
be back home again! She was a little bummed that the trip was over, but she was
so glad she would be getting back to a normal routine today.
She actually wanted
to go to school today to see everyone.
It was a beautiful
morning. It was warm, sunny, and quiet. Rose got ready quickly, actually
wanting to get to school. She was going to start taking driver's ed today.
Rose ran out her
front door when Dominique pulled up in the driveway. Rose got into the car.
"Hey
girlfriend," Dominique said.
"Hey Dom,
what's up?" Rose asked.
"Not much. Do
you want to go shopping after school? They are having a major sale at
Bergners," Dominique said as she pulled out of Rose's driveway.
"Sure, I need
to go shopping."
Dominique smiled.
"So, do you want me to pick you up around four?"
Rose nodded.
"Yeah."
As they reached
school they split up and went to their lockers. As Rose was getting all the
books she needed for the first four periods, she noticed Cal at his locker not
too far away.
She really didn't
want to see him or talk to him today. Luckily, she got away without him
noticing.
Rose went right to
Jack's locker. When Rose came up to him, he smiled. He pulled her into a hug
and a little kiss.
"Hey
sweetie," Jack said.
"Oh, Jack,
isn't it strange? Being back at school and all, I'm kinda glad the whole trip
is over," Rose said as she moved his hair out of his eyes.
"Rose, I'm so
happy to be back at school. And, you know I hate school. But, you also know I
love you."
"I love you
too," Rose said as she kissed him again. "Hopefully, we can get
through the day without running into Cal."
"Too
late," Cal said as he came up behind them. "Isn't this a pretty
sight?" Cal said. Cal hated it more than anything when he saw them hugging
like that.
"Listen Cal,
we don't have time to deal with you today so I suggest you get out of our
faces," Jack said as he gave him a dirty stare.
Cal laughed.
"I'm so scared!"
Jack shut his
locker and, with Rose's hand in his, walked away.
Cal stood their a
moment to think. To think of how to break the school's 'perfect couple' apart.
All Cal knew was that it wasn't going to be easy, but it had to be done.
