JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Twenty-Six

Rose sighed as she sat through another boring History class. Luckily, because of the new seating arrangement, she sat right next to Tommy. Her and Tommy were passing notes, totally bored.

Rose, I bet a million dollars you and Dominique are going shopping after school. Face it--I know you two too well!--Tommy

Tommy, Yep, we are. There are so many sales! Are you guys gonna go to the mall tonight?--Rose

Rose, Yeah, I'll make Jack and Fabri come. Jack will want to see you and we both know Fabrizio doesn't have a life, right?--Tommy

Tommy, LOL. You guys better come tonight. Meet us there around like 6:00, all right?--Rose

Rose, alright. The bells about to ring, I'll talk to ya later.--Tommy. P.S. I feel like such a girl passing notes. At least I'll never be as feminine as Fabrizio:)

Rose smiled as she put the now crumbled up note into her bookbag. She was so glad Tommy was totally back to being himself.

Rose's next period she had driver's ed. She couldn't wait!

Driver's ed went by quickly, mostly just basics the first day. She knew it was going to be easy to pass--hopefully.

At the end of the day, Rose went to Jack's locker. He was there, of course, and they hugged and kissed.

They walked out of the school building and got in Jack's truck.

"So, how was driver's ed?" Jack asked as he pulled out of the parking lot.

"It went well, it doesn't seem like it will be that hard," Rose said as she checked her hair in a pocket mirror she had in her bookbag.

"Good. I didn't think it was to tough, you want your license so bad you'll actually be interested in what's going on."

As they pulled up to Rose's house, Rose gave Jack a kiss and got out. Her mother was there to greet her.

"Hello Rose."

"Hi Mom, how was your day?"

"Fine, how was yours?"

"Good, I'm going to the mall at four, okay?" Rose asked.

"Yes, just try to get some homework done before you leave," Ruth said.

"I will Mom."

Rose ran upstairs to her room. She got her purse and went downstairs to watch TV before she had to leave.

When Dominique honked her horn, Rose ran out the front door and got into Dominique's car.

"Hey. Tommy said that they might meet us there later."

"All right, as long as we can get our shopping done first," Dominqiue said as she turned on the radio.

Once they got there they went to all of their favorite stores. They bought tons and tons of clothes, hats, and dresses. They thanked God for credit cards.

They met the boys there around six by JC Penny's. Jack gave Rose a kiss. They all walked around together, Jack holding Rose's hand.

"Jack, do you think will happen with Cal?" Rose asked.

"I dunno Rose, but whatever happens, we'll be together. I promise you that."

Rose smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too."
