JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Twenty-Eight

The whole room was filled with laughter. It was Saturday night and the whole gang was hanging out at Fabrizio's house. They were all in his living room. Both of Fabrizio's parents were out of town to a wedding, so they had the house to themselves.

"You guys, I'm having so much fun! We never hang out at Fabri's house," Dominique commented as she put her arm around Tommy.

"Do you guys wanna all sleep over here tonight?" Fabrizio asked.

"Can we really? That would be awesome!" Dominique replied.

"Yeah, my mom and dad won't be back till tomorrow night," Fabrizio stated.

"Well, I'm gonna call my mom and tell her I'm spending the night at Dom's," Rose said as she reached for her cell phone out of her light blue bag. "My mom's over at Jack's house, so I'll call there."

"Why is she over there?" Dominique asked.

"She's having dinner with Jack's uncle," Rose said, not really caring too much about it.

"Fabri, can I use your phone?" Tommy asked.

Fabrizio nodded and Tommy left the room. After Rose hung up, Dominique used her phone and called her parents and said that she would be spending the night at Rose's house.

"Jack, are you okay?" Rose asked as she noticed her boyfriend was staring into space.

"Yeah, it's just that your mom and my uncle have gotten very close lately. They're like boyfriend and girlfriend," Jack said.

"If they got married, wouldn't that make you guys, like, related?" Tommy said as he came back into the room.

Rose rolled her eyes. "Do you think they're getting serious about each other?" Rose asked Jack.

"Well, Rose, they have been spending a lot of time together ever since I noticed that picture, I dunno. My uncle loves it that he's dating his sister's best friend. When my mom died, it really hurt," Jack said as he shrugged his shoulders.

Rose went over to Jack and sat next to him. Jack wrapped his arms around Rose and kissed her on the top of her head.

"I love you," Jack said.

"I love you, too," Fabrizio said as a joke.

"I love you Jack," Rose said as she gave him a passionate kiss.

"Ah, that gives me an idea," Fabrizio said. "Let's play Spin the Bottle!"

Even though Tommy and Dominique didn't want to, they ended up playing it anyway. They were all in a circle.

"I'll go first," Fabrizio said. He spun and it landed on Tommy.

"Oh, no! I ain't lettin' Fabrizio kiss me!" Tommy exclaimed.

"You have to!" Dominqiue said with a laugh.

"No, I'm not," Fabrizio said.

"Then you gotta kiss the girl closest to me...Rose is the winner!" Tommy said.

Fabrizio smiled and leaned over to kiss Rose. Jack felt a little uneasy about this. Jack was shocked! The kiss was way longer than it had to be. It was even French!

Tommy looked over to Jack. Dominique gave a disgusted look at Fabrizio.

"Rose!" Dominique said. She put her hand over her mouth in shock.

"What?" Rose asked cluelessly.

"We'll be right back," Dominique said as she pulled Rose into Fabrizio's bathroom.

"Rose! What the hell did you think you were doing?" Dominique yelled.

"What? It's spin the bottle."

"Yes, Rose, it's not make out with Fabrizio time! You kissed him for like a minute!"

"I did?" Rose asked.

"Yu-huh!" Dominique said. "Rose, I dunno what Jack's going to do, but I'm glad I'm not in your shoes!" Dominique said as she left the bathroom.

Rose sat down on the edge of the bath tub, stunned. She didn't mean to do that, Fabrizio was just such a good friend, and she knew he hadn't had a girlfriend before, except for Dominique.

Rose came out of the bathroom and saw Jack sitting on the couch. She came up to him. She sat down and looked into his beautiful blue eyes.

"Jack, I'm sorry."

Jack smiled slightly.

"Jack, it's just that I guess Fabrizio's one of my best friends, life has been so hard lately. With Tonya gone, I don't have that many good friends. I know Fabrizio hasn't really had anyone since Dominique and everything, I just got caught up in the game. I'm sorry."

This time, Jack gave her a big smile. "I was never mad Rose, I know you love me."

Rose smiled and hugged Jack. Their love was so strong, it would never fade.
