JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter
Thirty-Eight
"Look, all of
this happened because of you!" Dominique yelled at Alexia.
"Me! What did
I do? I tried to help them," Alexia snapped back.
"Bitch,"
Dominique said.
"What did you
say?" Alexia asked in shock.
"I said
bitch!"
Rose was watching
all of this in the doorway. She came out into the hall where they were at. Rose
hated the smell of hospitals.
"Rose!"
Dominique rushed over to her friend with a hug. "How are you
feeling?"
"Much better,
I'm just worried about Tommy."
"Rose,"
Dominique said. "They said the surgery went well. Stop worrying."
Rose smiled a
little a Dominique. She looked over at Alexia who looked scared.
"Alexia,"
Rose said.
Alexia looked up.
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
Alexia smiled.
"You're welcome."
Rose figured out
that Alexia wasn't so bad. If it weren't for her and her cell phone, Tommy
would have probably died for sure.
"I just pray
that Tommy is doing okay..."
In Tommy's room...
Tommy looked down
at a hallway of ligh. Was he really dead? He felt dead. He looked down at his
clothes. He wasn't wearing a hospital gown anymore. He was wearing a white
robe.
Tommy walked down
the hallway that looked like the path to Heaven. When he finished, he saw
somebody. Somebody he thought he'd never see again.
"Tonya?"
Tommy wispered.
Tonya just smiled
at him. "Hey boy."
"Where...where
am I?"
"Tommy, you're
in heaven."
"So, I'm
dead?"
Tonya smiled.
"Nope, not yet. Listen to me Tommy. It's not your time to go. Your friends
need you."
"I need
you," Tommy said.
"Alexia needs
you," Tonya said back.
"You...you
know about me and Alexia?" Tommy asked nervously.
Tonya let out a
little laugh. "Yes, I do. She's a sweet young girl, Tommy. You're right.
She's a lot like me."
"How did you
know that I said that?" Tommy asked.
"Tommy, I'm
always with you. Wherever you go, I'm with you. I'll always be with you."
"Please,"
Tommy said. "Let me be with you, where I want to be. I love you."
Tonya gave him a
hug and a kiss. "I love you, too Tommy. But, I will be with you, I
promise. And, one day when it's your turn to come, we'll be together
forever."
"Tommy?"
Tommy looked
straight into Tonya's eyes.
"You can tell
them." Tonya smiled. "But, only tell our friends. No one else."
Tommy smiled.
"Okay, I will."
"Would you
like to see him?" Tonya asked.
"It was a
boy?" Tommy asked with a smile.
"It was a
boy." Tonya reached behind her and picked up a small baby. "Here he
is. Tommy junior."
Tommy smiled as
Tonya handed him his son. "He's beautiful, Tonya."
"I know. Just
like his daddy."
Tommy smiled.
"I love you, and your mommy so much."
"We love you,
too. Tommy, it's time to go." Tonya said.
Tommy handed his
baby back to Tonya and gave them both a kiss goodbye.
"Bye, Tommy. We'll
always be with you."
"Goodbye."
