JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter
Thirty-Nine
Rose hummed to
herself as she looked through her closet for something to wear. It was an
important day. Tommy was coming home today. It had been two weeks since he got
stabbed, and they said he had recovered. The whole crew was going to meet up at
Tommy's house. Rose heard a knock on the door. "Come in."
"Hey Rosey,
you ready?" Jack asked, coming into the room.
"Not quite,
what should I wear?" Rose asked him as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Whatever you
think looks good. Anything looks good on you," Jack commented. Rose smiled
at him with a slight laugh.
Jack was glad Rose
was feeling better, but he was worried. Worried about the man who did this to
Tommy and Rose. They still hadn't caught him.
"How about
this?" Rose asked as she held up a casual white dress.
"Perfect."
After Rose changed,
Jack drove them both over to Tommy's house. Jack and Rose walked up to the
doorstep holding hands. Fabrizio answered the door.
"Hey you two,
Dom and Tommy are in the living room," he said, letting them in.
They all walked to
the living room. When they got there, the three of them sat on the couch as
Tommy and Dominique sat on opposite chairs.
"Tommy, it's
so good to see you out and about, " Rose said, leaning over and holding
his hand.
Tommy smiled.
"You guys, I need to tell you something. Something important."
"What is it,
Tommy?" Dominique asked, very interested.
"It's about
Tonya."
"What about
Tonya?" Fabrizio asked.
"You know the
night of the accident?" Tommy asked, his hands trembeling.
"Yeah.."
Fabrizio muttered.
"Well, Tonya
told me something in the car, before the wreck."
"What?"
Rose asked.
"That she was
pregnet with my baby."
Everybody gasped.
"What!?"
"I'm sorry I
didn't tell you sooner," Tommy said. "But I didn't know if Tonya
wanted me too."
"Tommy, are
you serious?" Dominique asked. Tommy shook his head.
"Oh my
gosh," Rose said with her hand on her mouth in shock.
"Tommy, how
did you know Tonya wanted you to tell us?" Jack asked.
"Because I saw
her, in heaven. I saw her with my son."
They all had tears
in their eyes. Even if heaven was all a dream to Tommy, the pregnency was very
real.
"So, Tonya's
up in heaven taking care of our child," Tommy said.
"What was it
like in heaven?" Fabrizio asked.
"It was like
the place where you've been looking for your whole life."
Rose and Jack
turned their heads to look at eachother. They both smiled slightly at each
other. Jack leaned over and kissed Rose softly. "Don't worry, Tonya's soul
is finally free."
