JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Forty

Rose smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror in her new blue bikini. She had her hair up in a french braid, and her fingernails matched her bikini.

"Hey, who's that beauitful woman?" Jack asked coming in to Rose's bedroom.

Rose smiled at him. "When is everybody coming over?"

"They should be here in a few minutes."

The whole gang was coming over to their house to go swimming. But, Jack had to tell Rose who else was coming.

"Rose? Umm is that okay if Tommy's bringing Alexia?" Jack expected Rose to get angry and yell. But, she didn't.

"Great, we need to get to know her better."

"Really? So.." Jack paused. "Are you two getting along?"

Rose smiled. "Yeah, she's not that bad."

Just then they heard the doorbell ring. They both raced downstairs to open the door to find their friends.

"Hey guys," Fabrizio said, coming in.

They all walked out into Rose's backyard. Jack started to think about the past. He started to think about Rose. Their first date, their first kiss. Everything. Jack wasn't too worried about the attacker anymore. It had been four weeks since then. Even though they never caught him, Jack felt that Rose was now safe.

"Oh, Alexia! I love those sunglasses!" Dominique said.

"Thanks," she replied politely.

Fabrizio looked down into the water. It looked pretty cold. When he wasn't looking, Dominique came up behind him and pushed him in. Everybody laughed.

"Very funny," Fabrizio said, coming out of the water.

After about two minutes, everybody was in the pool. "Do you guys wanna play tag?" Alexia asked.

"Tag?" Fabrizio asked.

"Yeah, freeze tag. When you gotta swim under their legs to un-tag them."

"Oh, okay!" Fabrizio said, thinking of Dominique.

"Not it!" Tommy yelled.

So did everybody else, but the last one to say it was Fabrizio.

"Poor Fabri," Jack said, splashing water in his face.

Everybody scattered out. Fabrizio chased Rose and Tommy for a while. He finally managed to tag Rose.

"Jack!" Rose yelled to Jack, who was near her. He swam underwater under Rose's legs.

Tommy spaced out. He was glad that Alexia was getting along with his friends now, becasue he really liked her. He reminded her so much of...

Tommy's train of thought was interrupted by giggles of Jack and Rose.

"Oh Jack, not here," Rose said. Tommy rolled his eyes at their sexual contact. He looked over at Alexia who was swimming by Dominique, both getting chased by Fabrizio. He smiled.

"Tommy watch out!" Dominique said as Fabrizio swam torward him. Tommy of course swam faster.

"Where's Jack and Rose?" Alexia asked.

Tommy pointed to a lay-down lawnchair which had Jack and Rose making out on. "Hey! Tommy said. "Isn't it enough that you sleep with each other every night?"

"Shh," Rose said. "My mother don't know that."

Jack smiled at Rose. He was so lucky to have a girl like her. He really was.

"I love you, Rose."

"I love you, too," Rose said. "I'll be right back, I gotta go splash Tommy," Rose said. "Don't leave."

Leave?

He couldn't think of any other place he'd rather be.
