JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Forty-Six

Rose didn't know what to do. Jack had passed out. She couldn't just let him die, but she couldn't run for help because Tony was still out there.

The Rose remembered! Her cell phone was in her pocket. She was so glad she had thought to wear a jacket tonight. She pulled it out quickly and dialed 911.

"Hello? Yes...somebody's trying to kill me, they shot my boyfriend!" Rose didn't even know what she was saying she was so scared. "We're at Magic Beach. Hurry!"

Rose decided to try to get Jack out of unconsciousness while waiting for the police to arrive. "Jack? Please don't die...Jack! I need you. I love you. Please! Don't leave me!"

"Oh," Tony came up. "Isn't this a pretty site?"

"You son of a bitch!" Rose said.

"Come on Rose," Tony said. "I need to finish what I didn't finish that night," Tony said.

"You stay the hell away from me! Don't touch me!" Rose said as she backed up against the wall, still holding Jack's hand. She looked at Jack who was showing no response. He was still breathing, but Rose knew he didn't have long to go.

"Look Rose, we can do this the easy way or the hard way," Tony said.

Rose didn't take any chances. She kicked him as hard as she could in between his legs. He grabbed his crotch in pain and tumbled over.

Rose couldn't run, she was not going to leave Jack. So, she grabbed his gun, which he had dropped. She pointed it at him.

"You move away from me, or I'll shoot. I swear on my father's grave! I'm shoot!"

Tony just stood there. "Listen, Rose. Give me the gun, now!"

Rose shook her head. She didn't want to tell him she had called the police. She wanted them to catch him.

They both started to hear sirens in a distance. "You called the cops didn't you, bitch!" Tony said. "I'm gonna kill you with my own to hands!"

Rose kept the gun pointed. As he came closer she tried to shoot - but it didn't work.

"I must be out of bullets," Tony said with a laugh.

Rose threw the gun at his face and he grabbed his head in pain. Rose started to run, just thinking about how the police were almost here. But, he grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"Please, just leave me alone!" Rose begged.

"Missy, that's the last thing I wanna do." He pushed Rose against the wall. Just in time for...

"Freeze!"

Rose looked up at a police man holding up a gun. Then, a group of police men came up and put handcuffs on Tony. "You have the right to remain silence," one of them said. "Anything you say can, and will be used against you in the court of law."

Then, Rose watched an ambulance pull up and put Jack in a stretcher. "Can I go with him?" Rose pleeded. They agreed and let Rose ride in the ambulance.

The way to the hospital was like a nitemare. She saw them start an IV on him. She was in way too much shock to talk.

When they reached the hospital Rose was checked out by a docter. After that, she sat in the waiting room and answered some questions for a cop.

"When did you meet Luke Dawson?" he asked.

"I just met him tonight," Rose said. "But he..." Rose didn't finish, she saw her mom and John walk in. She ran into her mother's arms.

"Oh, mama," Rose said. "Jack...he got shot."

Ruth tried to comfort her daughter as well as she could. "Rose, it's okay. Jack's a surviver," Ruth said.

John went up to the front desk to get all of the latest information. Rose and Ruth sat down on a couch. "Tell me everytihng," Ruth said.

"Jack and I were just taking a walk on the beach," Rose said. "Then his older brother showed up. I noticed a tatoo on his arm and I knew it was the man who attacked me and Tommy that night."

"Go on, dear," Ruth said, holding her daughter.

"Then, the next thing I knew he was chasing us down the beach, and Jack and I ran into a little shack. Then, he came through the back door and held up a gun. Jack wouldn't let him hurt me so Jack kicked him and we both ran out of there. When we were running, he shot Jack when Jack turned around to see if he was coming. He shot him in the stomach."

"If you were running from him, wouldn't Jack have gotten shot in the back?" Ruth asked.

"Well, Jack turned around for a moment to see if Tony was coming and that's when he shot him. Then we ended up behind part of a cliff. Jack told me that I had to survive.." Rose broke down into tears.

Then, she saw Dominique and Tommy race into the room. "Rose!"

Ruth told Rose she was going to go check on John. Dominique, and Tommy sat by Rose and gave her a hug.

"Rose, are you okay? John called us," Dominique said.

"I'm fine. It's Jack. He got shot."

Dominique gasped. "Who did it?"

"His brother, Tony Dawson," Rose replied.

"Oh my God," Tommy said. "Is he gonna be okay?"

"He shot him in the stomach," Rose said quitely. "Tommy, Tony's the one who stabbed you that night."

"And he shot Jack?" Tommy asked. "I'll beat his fucking face in..."

"Where's Fabrizio?" Rose asked.

"Oh, he went out of town with his dad for the night. We don't know where he's at. We can try to find him if you want us to," Dominique said.

"No that's okay." Rose didn't even ask about Alexia. She wasn't really one of Jack's best friends. Alexia and Rose had just started to become friends.

About an hour later, Dominique and Tommy had left. The docter was going to have a talk to Ruth, John and Rose.

"How serious is Jack's condition?" John asked. Rose could tell that he was as worried as she was.

"Mr. Johnson," the docter said. "I don't want you to lose hope, but I recommend you to go ahead and make the funeral arrangements."

"What!?" John said.

Rose couldn't take it. She stormed out of the docter's office and ran as fast as she could. She didn't know where she was going - but she knew she had to go.
