JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Forty-Seven

Rose ran, and she ran, and she ran. She ended up at the chapel that was located in the hospital. She had never been too close to God, she was raised a Catholic, but her family didn't go to church that often. Rose really wanted to get closer to God. When her Daddy was alive, they whole family would go to church every Sunday.

Rose lit a candel and knelt down. "God," she prayed aloud. "I really need you to be with Jack right now. Please, don't take him away from me and everyone else. He is needed here. I love him so much. Heavenly Father, please don't take away my angel. There is no possible way I could live with out him. Even though," Rose started to cry. "There is about a five percent chance Jack will live, please, don't let him die. Please send a miracle. Amen."

Rose didn't even try to wipe her tears, for she knew there would just be more. Rose sat in the chapel for hours, praying. She didn't know what else to do.

Then, someone stormed through the door. "Rose!"

It was Ruth. "Mom, what happened?" Rose was prepared for the worse.

"Jack's going to live!" Ruth said.

Rose ran into her mothers arms. "Oh, Mama, that's great..." Rose was in tears. God had answered her prayers. Ruth kissed her daughter on the cheek.

"How?" Rose gasped.

"He has some how recovered," Ruth replied. "I know how the docters said that he didn't have a good chance beacuse they thought Jack was too weak after the surgery, but he is now conscience. He is doing well, and the docters said that he is doing great!"

Ruth was know crying with her daughter. "Thank you God for saving my angel," Rose wispered. "Will I be able to see him?" Rose asked.

"Honey, I think he's too weak for that. We have to do what's best for him," Ruth said.

Rose just nodded. They walked back to the waiting room. After abour 15 minutes, John came out.

"How is he?" Rose asked.

"He's doing good," John said with a smile. "I talked to him, but he said all he wants to do is make sure that Rose is okay. He is begging to see her."

Rose smiled. "Please, can I see him?"

John nodded. Once Rose got there, she was a little shocked at what she saw. They said he was better. He was hooked up to all kinds of machines. But, Rose knew he'd make it for sure know.

"Oh, Rosey," Jack said. Rose ran to him and they hugged. Jack looked horrible. His face was pale, his eyes were blurry, and he looked as if he had just ran 500 miles.

"Jack, we were all so worried!" Rose said. She gave him a kiss on the top of his head, like he often did to her. "Thank God you'tre okay. I love you so much! Thank you for not leaving me! I was so worried..."

"Rose," Jack said. "I was so worried about you. What did Tony do to you? Did he rape you? Did he hurt you? What happened?"

"Nothing, Jack. I'm fine, I'm worried about you," Rose said.

"Rose, I'll be out of here before ya know it," he said with a slight chuckle. "I love you, Rose."

"Jack," Rose said. "I love you, too."

"Have you talked to anyone lately?" Jack asked.

"Tommy and Dominique stopped by," Rose replied.

"Oh, what did Tommy say when he found out that Tony was the one who stabbed him, too?"

"Oh," Rose said. "Let's just say he said some words I shouldn't repeat."

"Rose, thank you."

"For what?" Rose asked.

"For not breaking your promise. And, for saving my life."

"Your welcome," she replied as she kissed his head again.

They both started crying. They couldn't take it anymore. Being so close to losing each other scared them. Know they knew, they'd be together always.

"Rose," Jack started. "Did you really ride in the ambulance with me?"

"You jump, I jump, remember?"
