JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Fifty-Six

"Okay," Tommy said. "Jack and I will take a look around. Fabrizio, you stay here with the girls."

Fabrizio nodded. Rose looked up at Jack. He looked pretty calm. Tommy, on the other hand, looked like he could blow at any minute. Rose didn't know if she liked the idea of Jack and Tommy going alone. She had been worried about Jack ever since she had found out about Dave, but this was different. She couldn't stand the thought of losing him.

"We'll be back.." Tommy said.

"Wait!" Rose said. "Why can't we all stay here...it's too dangerous for you two to go off looking for.."

"No!" Tommy said. "The only chance we have is if we find who's on this boat with us!"

They could all tell Tommy meant buisness. It was the only logic thing to do. Wasn't it? They couldn't just stay on the deck until they got rescued. Would they ever get rescued? Only time would tell.

Rose ran into Jack's arms and kissed him. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do," she whispered in his ear, making Jack smile.

"I won't. I promise."

Jack kissed her hand, giving her comfort. "We'll be right back."

Rose, Alexia, and Dominique stayed huddled together as Fabrizio paced in front of them. Fabrizio felt a little foolish for not being one of the 'men', but he was glad he was keeping the girls somewhat calm.

"What is taking them so long?" Dominique complained.

"I dunno," Fabrizio said. "Do you think I should go down there?" He looked down the dark staircase that led to the bottom of the boat.

"No!" Dominique said. "Let's just stay here...they'll be back soon."

They all prayed Dominique was right. Suddenly, they heard someone's footsteps getting louder. They hoped it was Jack or Tommy...

"Not one damn thing," Tommy said with Jack trailing behind.

"Then what the hell happened?" Alexia asked. She wasn't the only one shook up by all of this. If no one was on the boat, what had happened? They didn't know.

"Maybe someone just did all of this before we took off," Rose suggested. Everybody looked at her with blank expressions. Why would someone want to scare them? Anyways, they all convinced themselves that it was just a prank. A simple prank.

"Well," Tommy said. "It doesn't look like we'll be getting any sleep tonight."

Dominique thought for a second. "We have no motor...how will be get back to land?"

Her question startled everyone. Would someone come rescue them? Would they just starve to death? Rose was scared, but she was glad Jack was with her. He was like a guardian angel. Whenever he was with her, she felt nothing bad could ever happen to her.

Rose immediantly took out her cell phone from her purse. "You guys.. doesn't work."

"Neither does mine.." Dominque said.

Then Jack saw something. It was a boat! Only about 600 feet away. This was there chance. Their chance to be saved.

"A boat!" Jack yelled. "We need to get their attention."

They all looked at Fabrizio. He would know what to do.

"I got it!" Fabrizio said. He ran to the steering wheel. He grabbed a small box from the closet. He hurried back outside and opened it. He reached for one of the flares. He used Tommy's lighter and lit it. He held it up as high as he could. It should be easy for the other ship to see it in the dark.

"Help! Help!" They all cried in unison.

As the time past and the boat got closer, Rose was the only one to notice who's boat it was. She knew who owned such a fine ship. The one and only Caledon Hockley.
