JACK AND ROSE: PRESENT TIME
Chapter Fifty-Seven

Rose couldn't get on Cal's boat. She knew Jack wouldn't like the idea of it either. "You guys..." Rose murmured.

They all looked at Rose. "Do you know who that ship belongs to?" Fabrizio asked.

Rose nodded. "Cal Hockley."

"Shit," Tommy said. "I am not getting on that boat."

"We have to you guys," Alexia said. "There is no other way out!"

As the boat came closer, they all thought about the possibilities. There was really only one. They had to get on that boat. Would Cal even let them on his boat? They would soon find out.

"Looks like someone's boat is broke," Cal said from the steering part of his ship. He looked quite amused. They knew Cal was the one who broke their boat.

"It was you who did this to us, wasn't it!" Jack yelled.

"Why would I do that?" Cal asked. "Come on, Dawson. Give me a little credit. I'm not as bad as you think."

Jack rolled his eyes. "We all knew it was you!"

"Do you want a lift or not?" Cal asked, now annoyed.

"Yes," Alexia cut in. "We do."

Cal stretched a ladder across onto their boat. They all climbed carefully on it over to Cal's boat. It was a little scary, but they survived.

"You're welcome," Cal said.

"Thanks so much!" Alexia said. Alexia didn't know Cal like the others knew him. Sure, she had heard stories, but she was just glad to be safe again.

"I'm on my way back home," Cal said. "I hope that's okay for you guys," he said.

"Yeah, that's fine," Dominique said.

"So where were you guys going?" Cal asked.

"I dunno.." Fabrizio said. "My dad's gonna kill me! I can't just leave my boat sitting out there..."

"Sure, you can," Dominique said as she patted him on the back.

As they reached land again, they were all thankful. Even though he was a jerk, he saved them. Rose knew, inside, Cal wasn't the one who did it to their boat. It could have been anyone. I think everyone knew that.

"Have a safe ride home," Cal said as he got in his own car at the dock. They all watched as the hero pulled away.

"Can you believe he helped us?" Dominique asked.

"I still think he did it," Tommy said.

"Who cares?" Dominique said back. "We're back now. Everything's fine."

Rose took a deep sigh. She looked at Fabrizio's sad face. "Don't worry, Fabri," Rose said. "Your father will understand."

Fabrizio shrugged his shoulders. "I gotta get home right away."

The car ride home for Jack and Rose was quite. "So...what do you think happened?" Rose asked.

"I don't think Cal did it," Jack said.

Rose looked surprised. "Really?" Rose thought for a moment. "I totally agree with you."

"Then who did break the boat?" Jack asked.

Rose shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno...maybe it was just a common mistake."

"Maybe..." Jack said. "Well, there goes are plans for this week..."

"I kinda just wanna go home," Rose said.

"Me too."
