SWEET INNOCENCE
Chapter Six

The next day, Jack got up and went to the bathroom to see the damage Rose had left on his face. He had one scratch on his right cheek, and when he opened his shirt, a few bruises were there as well. Rose had done a good job on him, all right. He took a shower. Today, he would have it out with Cal. This time, things would be right in the open.

When Rose woke up, Jack was gone. She walked around the house. She figured he had gone out. She went back to bed, yawning. She turned on the TV and laid down. She wondered why Jack had left her. Why didn’t he wake her up? She figured that he had let her sleep in, and she did fall asleep.

Jack got to school before the bell had rung. He found Cal talking to Mary.

He saw him give Mary a check.

Jack only got more enraged. He walked up to Cal and pushed him.

Cal had the nerve to rush Jack. Jack fell.

They both were throwing punches at each other. Jack ended up leaving Cal with a broken nose, while Jack was left with a bloody mouth.

Someone tore them apart.

"I’ll kill you, Cal!" Jack yelled.

"Come on, Dawson," he enticed him.

"All right! Break it up!" A teacher walked in.

"This isn’t over, Hockley." Jack left, got in his car, and went back home.

He drove like a man insane, but he made it home okay.

When he opened the door, Rose was lying there, still in bed.

"Jack! Oh, my God. What happened?" Rose got up.

He said nothing and lay by her side.

Rose got up and got a wet towel to clean his mouth.

Jack was messed up. He ached everywhere.

"Jack, are you okay?" She was very worried about him.

"I am fine, just tired," he said, and closed his eyes.

A few minutes later, the phone rang.

"Hello, Rose?" Cara asked.

"Hey, Cara. How did you get this number?" Rose asked.

"I work in the attendance office. Remember?" Cara was always the smart one.

"Oh, yeah. Duh! What’s up?" Rose remembered.

"Is Jack with you?" Cara was sure that Jack was hurt after that fight.

"Yeah. Why?" Rose looked at him.

"Rose, you’re not gonna believe this, but Jack just kicked the shit out of Cal this morning," Cara told her.

"Did he? Oh, my God." She put a hand to her mouth.

"Yeah, Rose. Take care of him. He needs it." Cara liked Jack.

"How did the other one look?" Rose asked.

"Jack broke Cal’s nose," Cara said.

"Wow. This man loves me so much," Rose realized. "See you, Cara. Thanks for telling me," Rose said.

"All right, Rose. See ya." Cara would miss her. They were never together like they were before.

"Bye." Rose hung up the phone and scooted over to Jack.

His eyes were closed and he put his arm around her.

Rose laid there and eventually fell asleep again.

By the afternoon, Rose had woken up and was kissing Jack’s lips.

He responded, caressing her. She caressed him, too.

Loving the feel of their touch, Jack and Rose ended up making love.

Jack felt so good. Rose lay there, feeling the same.

"Jack, I am sorry." She kissed his chest.

"For what, Rose?" He felt so good, but ached everywhere.

"For hitting you yesterday. It wasn’t even your fault." She felt guilty, remembering what she had done yesterday.

"Don’t worry about it," he told her.

"But I do. Is there something I can do?" she asked him.

"I think you already have, my Rosie." He smiled, stretching.

"No, seriously," she said, putting her hand to his lips.

"Yes, Rose. Seriously. I feel good and I am happy. What more could I want?" he asked.

"Well, I can think of a few more things to make you feel even better," she said, as she smiled.

"And what is that, may I ask?" He looked into her eyes, wondering what she had planned.

She kissed his stomach, trailing kisses down below.

When she reached his manhood, he felt like he was in heaven. Rose did a job on him, all right.

But she was right. He was feeling much better. When he came, she swallowed his seed.

He felt good at that point. How could life get any better than this?

The doorbell rang.

Jack put on his robe and answered the door.

"Jack?" Michael asked.

"Dad?" Jack was shocked that his dad was there.

"Sorry I didn’t call." Michael stepped inside.

"It’s all right, Dad. Come on in." He led the way. "Hold on. Let me get dressed and I’ll be right out."

"All right, Jack." His father sat down.

Jack went to his bedroom and woke Rose up.

"Hey, Rosie. Wake up." He kissed her lips.

"What?" she asked, still tired from the night before.

"My dad is here," he told her.

"All right." She got up and dressed in a pretty summer dress.

Jack got dressed and walked out with her.

"Dad, there is someone I want you to meet." He held Rose’s hand.

Michael Dawson turned around.

"Hello." He got up.

"Hello, Mr. Dawson." Rose extended her hand.

"Please, call me Michael." He shook her hand.

Rose sat by Jack.

"Dad, I am sorry I didn’t tell you, but Rose and I got married this week." Jack had wanted his father there, but he had wanted to get married to Rose badly then.

"You got married, Jack?" Michael was astonished.

"Yeah, Dad. I love Rose. Not only that, but you are gonna be a grandpa." Jack felt guilty laying all this on his father at once.

"Wow, Jack. I am speechless," Michael said, rubbing his eyes. "Rose, thank you," he said.

"For what, Michael?" Rose had no idea what she had done.

"For taking care of my son while I am away. I thought he might get very lonely without me here. I am glad he’s found you," he said, smiling at her.

"Thank you, Michael. Care for something to drink?" she asked.

"Nah, but Rose--whatever you need for the baby, tell me and I will get it for you." He liked his new daughter-in-law.

"All right, Michael." She sat back down and smiled. Rose had just remembered that she hadn’t even told her mother about it.
