JACK AND ROSE PRESENT TIME 2: JUNIOR YEAR
Chapter Six

Rain began to pour down, making it almost impossible to find Tommy in such a mess. "Tommy!" Dominique yelled, trying her hardest to look through the rain that was falling from the sky.

Both of the girls were in hysterics. These kind of problems were supposed to be past their lives...gone with the wind. Rose wondered if her life would ever be able to be normal? Every time she thought her life was back on track, another horrible event happened. There was no more peace.

"Oh my God," Jack muttered, seeing his friend floating on his stomach near a small, peaceful waterfall.

The four friends got over to Tommy as fast as they could. Jack and Fabrizio grabbed his arms and pulled him onto the cold ground, but it was Dominique who saved him. "He's not breathing!" Rose yelled.

Dominique didn't hesitate. She began CPR. Now, she was thankful her mother had signed her up for those stupid health classes last year, they were finally paying off. Dominique breathed into his mouth, and then listened to his chest. She couldn't let him die.

A few seconds later, Tommy spit water from his mouth and sat up, coughing hard. Dominique rubbed his back, praying he was alright. "Are you okay, Tommy?"

Tommy looked up at Dominique, knowing what she had done. "Yeah...thanks to you."

Dominique smiled, and the two friends hugged. "Thank goodness," Dominique whispered. "We thought that we lost you."

"Are you sure you're okay, Tommy?" Rose asked.

Tommy nodded. He smiled at Dominique and said, "Thank you." It wasn't what he said, it was how he said it. Dominique knew that it was coming from the heart, and that meant more to her than anything else could.

"You're welcome," she replied, returning the smile.

"Let's get out of here," Fabrizio said. "We need to get Tommy back to the house."

You could tell that Tommy didn't like how everyone was mothering him, but he did almost die. He looked over at Dominique, still not believing that she had saved his life. The preppy, fashionable gymnast had saved his life.

"We should have never went down there," Fabrizio commented, thinking about how his friend could have been killed.

"I know," Tommy said. "But, it's my fault. It was my idea."

"Don't blame yourself Tommy," Dominique said. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have let all of us go down there. I put all of my friends in danger."

She was doing it again. Tommy wondered why Dominique wanted to take the blame for this. He knew one thing, he was glad that he had her as a friend. He was glad that all of the people surrounding him were always going to be there for him, no matter what. And, he promised himself that he would always be there for them. That was a promise that he knew he was going to keep.

As they reached Dominique's house again, they all went into the living room and scattered out when Dominique went to get her cordless phone. She was always ready for a phone call. Jack and Rose cuddled up with a blanked on the big white chair, and Tommy and Fabrizio sat on the couch, saving a spot in the middle for Dominique.

"What a night, huh?" Dominique asked as she came back into the room.

"Tell me about it," Tommy said with a laugh.

"It's past midnight...Today’s October 14th," Jack said, his mind had traveled elsewhere.

Everyone looked up. "So?" Fabrizio said.

Jack looked over at Rose and she smiled at him. "You remembered?"

"Oh, Rosie," Jack said as he leaned over and they began to kiss. Rose still loved the way Jack's arms felt around her...even though it had been a year. "Happy anniversary," Jack said, proud of himself for not forgetting.

"Happy anniversary," Rose replied back. She knew that he would remember! Exactly a year ago today, Jack had asked Rose out on their first date. Rose would never forget that night. It was also the first time they kissed...she could still remember that kiss.

"Look in your purse, Rose," Jack said with a sweet smile. Rose reached into his purse, that was on the floor, and pulled out a small piece of paper. She noticed that it was not just paper...it was paper with reservations on them! Reservations for the following night at one of the richest hotels in Los Angeles.

"Oh my gosh," Rose said as her face brightened up. "Jack! Thank you so much!"

They hugged again, and Rose kissed him. "You're welcome," Jack said.

"You're gonna have to wait for your gift till tomorrow," Rose said, as Jack smiled.

"Happy anniversary," the rest of the group said to the young lovers.

Tommy watched as Jack and Rose kissed and he noticed that he missed having a girlfriend. He missed having someone there for him. But, could he ever find a girl that was as good as Tonya, or Rose, or...Dominique? Dominique's name stayed in Tommy's mind as he watched her laugh about a joke Jack made.

Was he falling in love?
