Shanghai Noon Premiere

East Meets Western in Jackie Chan's New Movie

Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson, who play cowboy buddies in the new film Shanghai Noon, proved that Hollywood is big enough for the both of them at the movie's May 23 Premiere. The Hong Kong action star, who cam up with the idea for the movie - in which he plays a member of the Chinese Imperial Guard sent to Nevada in the 1880s to rescue a kidnapped princess (Lucy Liu of Ally McBeal) - was so happy to be starring in a Western that he ran up and down the red carpet outside Mann's Chinese Theater. His fans were pretty excited, too. One woman kept kissing Chan's arm and shouting "Jackie! Jackie!" Wilson - who came with his girlfriend, singer Sheryl Crow -- says that during the filming in Calgary, Alberta, he became familiar with some of Chan's lesser-known talents, such as his knack for karaoke. Chan took to entertaining the cast with classic tunes, including Frank Sinatra's "My Way." "Girls were swooning left and right," Wilson told Us Weekly. "I swear, he's got a beautiful voice."
