Die Another Day- Raymond Benson 2002

Summary-The plot of the novel is very close to that of the movie, with minor changes made and some gaps filled in. For summary, please see the Die Another Day movie page.
My Grade- A   The book is good, but there is nothing that particularly separates it from the movie, so it receives the same grade I gave the movie.
Best Moment- The best part of this book is the description of how Colonel Moon escaped death and became Gustav Graves. This was basically the only new information given in the book, but it does fill in some of the gaps of the movie. Moon is trapped under the hovercraft he goes over the waterfall in. He uses the tank blaster to shoot his way out. The book then continues to explain how he forged documents and went to the "Beauty Parlor" in Cuba become a new man. He then learns of a man in Iceland who has a diamond mind which is a cover for smuggling African conflict diamonds. Moon/Graves befriends the man, gets him to put him in his will, and then shoots the man. Graves goes from "nothing to everything in no time at all."
