This rating system isn't exactly professional. I take into consideration noticable things like script, acting, camera angles, and plot when I give it a 1 through 5 star rating. However, what really decides the rating is the feeling I get the second the credits start to role. How I feel when the movie is just over, when I have all the thoughts running through my head, is really what I'll give the movie. I do this because all though everything else is important, the most important part of what makes a movie good or bad is how it affects the audience. Things like acting and plot all play a large part in that, but when you compare my reviews with the professionals, you'll notice I talk more about what I felt about the movie and the reactions it brought out of me rather than all the technical stuff. If you've gone through film school, this probably doesn't work for you, but otherwise, my reviews hopefully give a reaction more closely resembling your own.
A wrote the above well over a year ago, and since then, my knowledge about movies has greatly increased, so you will notice any new reviews I do will probably be more critical...no more easy 5 stars.
