Tempe Entertainment was founded in 1985 by horror god J.R. Bookwalter. Tempe's first movie was the infamous zombie opus The Dead Next Door. J.R. and Tempe went on to produce many more horror classics for David DeCoteau's Cinema Home Video up until 1992. In 1992 J.R. decided to go solo and make Tempe Entertainment (then called Tempe Video) into a production / distribution company. So from then until 1997 J.R. and Tempe produced and released a lot of great horror films such as Ozone, The Sandman, Polymorph and Bloodletting. In 1997 J.R. moved to California to do bigger and better things and he joined forces with the ultimate direct-to-video horror company Full Moon Pictures. For a while he and his other company Fat Cat Post did post production and editing for Full Moon productions like Shrieker, Curse Of The Puppet Master and Talisman. Then J.R. got the chance to direct his first 35mm film Witchouse 2: Blood Coven in 2000. Witchouse 2 was a huge success and in 2001 J.R. produced a line of films released through Tempe and Full Moon. The movies they released areHorrorvision, Stitches, The Vault, Witchouse 3: Demon Fire and Killjoy 2: Deliverance From Evil. In 2002 J.R. and Tempe left Full Moon after producing Hell Asylum and Dead And Rotting. Now, J.R. is re-releasing his older films on DVD. He plans to work on some of his own projects in the near future.
