Directors Movie Choice Of The Week
Hapiness of the Kurikawis: This is one of the strangest films we have ever seen. Set in a secluded area somewhere in Japan, this is the story of a family brought together by the father to run a room and board service together. He hopes that this will bring the family closer together. But problems arise as the guests begin dying. The family cannot figure out why the guests are dying, but do not want to tell the police for fear that it would brand their getaway house with a bad name. They decide to bury the bodies on the property. That's when problem number two arises. A road is going to be built close to their home, right where the bodies are buried! Throw in a japanese soldier in the U.S. British Royal Navy who claims to be the nephew of the Queen of England(Who of course is lying about basically everything he says) and a slew of other crazy characters, hilarious musicals that break out throughout the movie, and a touch of claymation to the mix. This movie has some of the most creative uses of mixed media that I have ever seen in a film. Directed by Miike(Audition)Takayoshi who is huge in Japan, this is a great film with vibrant colors and a great cast. Check it out Now! Brandon rates it 5 out of 5 Scott rates it 3 out of 5 (He would have given it a 4.5 out of 5 but hates sub-titles) |
Beer Drinking Choice Of The Week
Out Of This World: Quite possibly one of the funniest horror movies created to date, Out of This World stars the illustrious Traci Lords as a personal nurse to an old man who just happens to be a Space Vampire. That's right I said a Space Vampire. What's that you've never heard of a Space Vampire: Space Vampire 101. Space Vampires communicate telepathically, always wearing their trademark black sunglasses. They hail from a faraway planet where apparently Space Vampires thrive. If thats not enough to get you to want to see this movie, then maybe the great acting by porn starlette Traci Lords will get you. Scott rates it 4 out of 6 beers Brandon rates it 5 out of 6 beers *Scale is based on 1 beer being the least amount of fun your group will have and 6 beers being the most fun your group will have while watching this movie. |
