REVELATION Chapter Eleven

And a cane like a rod was given to me, and the angel stood saying,

“Rise and measure the temple of God, and the altar and those worshipping in it. And the court outside the temple leave out and don’t measure it, for it was given over to the Gentiles, and they will trample on the Holy City for forty-two months. And I will give to my two witnesses and they will prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and two lampstands, which stand in front of the God of the earth. And if anyone should want to injure them, fire goes out of their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone should want to injure them thus he must be killed. These have power to shut heaven so that no rain may fall in the days of their prophecy, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they want. And when they have completed their testimony the beast who comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and will overcome them and will kill them. And their corpses on the square of the great city, which is called spiritually Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will see their corpses three and a half days; they will not let their corpses be put into tombs. And the ones living on the earth will rejoice over them, and will be delighted and they will send gifts to one another because these two prophets tormented those living on the earth.

“And after three and a half days the spirit of life from God entered into them and they stood on their feet and great fear fell on those seeing them. And they heard a great voice out of heaven saying to them, ‘Come up here!’

“And they went up to heaven in a cloud and their enemies saw them. And in that hour a great earthquake occurred and a tenth of the city fell and seven thousand names of men were killed in the earthquake. And the rest became afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.

“The second woe is past, look, the third woe comes quickly.”

And the seventh angel trumpeted out and there were great voices in heaven saying,

“The kingdoms of the world have become our Lord’s and his Christ’s, and he will reign for ever and ever!”

And the twenty-four elders who sit in front of God on their thrones, fell upon their faces and worshipped God saying,

“We thank you Lord God, the Almighty, he who is, and he who was, and he who is coming, that you have taken your great power and reigned. And the nations were angry and your wrath has come and the time of the dead to be judged, and to give the reward to your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to the ones fearing your name, the small and the great, and to annihilate the ones ruining the earth.”

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple, and there were lightnings and voices and thunders and an earthquake and great hail.
