The Indonesian Confrontation

2 Belvedere helicopters from 66 Squadron, RAF were based in Brunei.
HMS Albion was deployed in 1962. HMS Bulwark in 1964.
845 and 846 Naval Air Squadrons were deployed in 1963.
848 Naval Air Squadron deployed in 1965.

 4th May 1963, a Belvedere Helicopter XG473 crashed near Long Merarap in the
Trusan Valley, Sarawak, killing all nine passengers and crew.

964629 Acting-Petty-Officer Michael John Parry (HMS Bulwark) - killed in an accident 17 November 1964. Buried in St. John’s Anglican cemetery Sibu (moved to Cheras Road CWGC Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur)

Sergeant B. Bexton - 22 Regiment SAS. Killed 7th June 1964. Aged 27.
An SAS patrol leading a platoon of the 2/7th Gurkhas was ambushed by Indonesian troops, near Long Pa Sia, Sabah, close to the Indonesian Border. Grave at Kranji Cemetery, Singapore.
