Trimaster 1/48 Focke Wulf Fw190D-9

This particular Fw190D-9 is the now discontinued Trimaster kit. It is a superb kit from the word go. It comes with 2 frets of PE, white metal landing gear, guns, exhaust stubs and other assorted hardware. Again I  used Waldron's placard set for the cockpit.  I also used Waldron instruments, bezels and seat belts. All in all the cockpit was good for around 20 - 25 hours.

I also dropped the flaps on this one and did a little extra detailing in the wheel wells. Not much extra detailing is necessary with this kit.

Finishing was done with Model Master enamels and the kit decals.  Weathering was done with pastels and a light wash of burnt sienna for the panel lines.

D-9 aficionados will notice that the antenna wire in the picture is wrong, you are right. It has since been corrected. D-9 antenna wires were not under tension like their predecessors and therefore "drooped" when the canopy was opened.
